The Penalty Spot on Sukhumvit is an interesting little bar that features live music nightly, a pool table upstairs, and a western food menu and Thai food menu. They serve a range of beers and cocktails. It is obviously themed as a sports bar, and people come here to watch football and other competitive sports. The service is great. The owner “mommy” is a fun-loving older woman who is always smiling. There are bar girls here who will sit with you if you buy a drink, but also you can just chill with friends, eat something, or just chat with the staff for fun. The food is decent. The Thai food they make is actually quite good. The western food isn’t as good as the Thai, but the cheeseburger is surprisingly solid. Overall this spot (no pun intended) gets a 4.3/5 stars for me, which mostly rides on the service, Thai food, and live music.

Great place to watch a premier league game while also enjoying some great live music. Staff was very friendly and the amount of screens is here is overwhelming.

Great. I was there during a quiet time. They had the Australian Open on as well as US football. Portions were huge. The potato salad hit a spot in my belly I didn't know was missing something. It was excellent.

The atmosphere itself was quite nice and the staff was friendly, but that positive impression unfortunately disappeared when it came time to pay. The bill turned out to be much higher than expected, which gave me the feeling that I had paid too much for what I received. What is especially disappointing is that you almost feel the need to carefully check the receipt to make sure everything is correct. That really takes away from the relaxed feeling you should have in a bar. For these prices, I expect more transparency and clarity. All in all, not a bad place in terms of ambiance, but because of the experience with the bill, I wouldn’t be quick to return. ⸻

Beer tasted ok and clearly cleaned pipes. Didn’t really like the bar staff hinting for drinks. Just leave customers alone and they’ll spend a bit more money. Despite enjoying the beer and wanting another i left as I felt I would be pressured to buy staff a beer.
