Bangkok is one of the easier cities in Asia to find a dentist who speaks English. Many clinics in Sukhumvit, Siam and Silom treat a mostly foreign patient base, and several publish their full price lists online. This guide compares those published prices, explains what drives the cost of bigger treatments, and gives a short checklist for choosing a clinic.

We quote only the prices clinics publish themselves, as read on 29 October 2026. Several of the lists include package or promotional rates that the clinics say are valid until 31 October 2026, so expect some prices to change in November. We do not rate or recommend individual dentists. For the full list of clinics, see the clinics directory.

How to read these prices#

  • Ranges reflect complexity. A simple cleaning and one with heavy tartar are priced differently. So are a straightforward extraction and a broken or impacted tooth.
  • Implants are quoted in parts. Some clinics quote the implant post and the crown separately (BIDC). Others include the crown (SDC). Bone grafts, sinus lifts, CT scans and temporary teeth are usually extra. SDC lists bone grafting and sinus lifts at 25,000–35,000 THB per area, and a 3D dental CT scan at 5,000 THB.
  • Per-visit fees add up. A treatment that takes four visits carries four sterilisation or nursing fees.
  • Promotions expire. Several prices above were marked as package or promotional rates valid until 31 October 2026.

What drives the cost of bigger treatments#

Implants#

The implant brand is the biggest single factor. On BIDC's list, the implant post cost 35,000 THB for an SIC implant and 54,000 THB for a Straumann Roxolid SLA implant, before the 25,000 THB crown. Dental Planet's page also shows package figures next to its implant prices, so ask which price applies on the day you book. Ask:

  • which implant brand and system will be used, and whether you will get the implant card;
  • whether the CT scan, abutment, temporary tooth and follow-up visits are included;
  • how many visits are needed and how long you must wait between surgery and the crown. Many implants need several months to heal before the final crown.

Root canals#

Front teeth have one canal and cost less. Molars have several, cost more, and usually need a crown afterwards to protect the tooth. Budget for the crown when you compare root canal prices.

Crowns and veneers#

Material drives price: metal and porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns cost less, all-ceramic (e.max or zirconia) more. Dental Planet listed a metal crown at 8,000 THB, porcelain with metal alloy at 9,000 THB, e.max at 12,000–14,500 THB and zirconia at 15,000 THB.

A worked example: one missing molar#

Say you need a back tooth replaced with an implant. Using only the published prices above, the totals before extras would be:

  • Dental Planet, SIC implant: 30,000 + 15,000 crown = 45,000 THB.
  • BIDC, SIC implant: 35,000 + 25,000 crown = 60,000 THB.
  • SDC, Camlog implant with crown: 69,000 THB.
  • BIDC, Straumann Roxolid SLA: 54,000 + 25,000 crown = 79,000 THB.

Add a CT scan where needed (SDC lists 5,000 THB), per-visit fees, and a bone graft if the dentist finds too little bone. The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive plan is real, but so is the difference in implant system. Ask each clinic why it recommends the brand it does.

How to choose a dentist in Bangkok#

  1. Check the licence. Every dentist practising in Thailand must hold a licence from the Dental Council of Thailand. Ask for the dentist's full name and licence number. Specialists (orthodontists, endodontists, oral surgeons) should be able to show their specialist training.
  2. Ask who will treat you. At larger clinics, the dentist who sees you for the consultation may not be the one who does the treatment.
  3. Get a written plan. For anything beyond a cleaning or a filling, ask for an itemised plan: each procedure, material, number of visits, total cost and what happens if something goes wrong.
  4. Compare like with like. Compare the same implant brand, the same crown material and the same number of visits.
  5. Ask about warranties. Some clinics publish warranty terms for crowns and implants. Read what is covered and for how long.
  6. Check payment and insurance. Ask whether the clinic charges a card fee. If you have expat insurance, ask whether the clinic will fill in your insurer's claim form. BIDC says it accepts local and overseas insurance claims.
  7. Think about follow-up. If you are a visitor, plan time for review appointments before you fly, especially after surgery.

Questions to ask at your first visit#

  • What exactly is the problem, and what are my options, including doing nothing for now?
  • What does each option cost, in total, including X-rays and per-visit fees?
  • How many visits, and over what period?
  • Which materials or implant brand will you use?
  • Who will do the treatment, and are they a specialist?
  • What warranty do you give, and what does it require from me?

Emergency dental care#

For severe pain, swelling or a dental injury after hours, the dental departments of the large private hospitals are usually the first option. They charge more than stand-alone clinics. If you have swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, go to a hospital emergency department straight away.

Dental care for visitors#

Many visitors combine a trip to Bangkok with dental treatment. If you plan to, agree the plan and the number of visits by email before you travel. Bring any recent X-rays from home and leave room in your schedule for delays. Complex work, such as several implants or a full set of crowns, may need more than one trip. A clinic will usually only confirm that after an examination.

Frequently asked questions#

How much is a dental cleaning in Bangkok? On the price lists we read in October 2026, cleaning, scaling and polishing cost 900–1,500 THB at Dental Planet, 1,500–2,000 THB at SDC and 1,500–2,800 THB at BIDC. Some clinics add a per-visit sterilisation fee.

How much does a dental implant cost in Bangkok? With the crown, the published prices we read ranged from about 45,000 THB to 79,000 THB for a single implant, depending on the clinic and brand. Bone grafts and sinus lifts are extra.

Do Bangkok dentists speak English? Many clinics that serve foreigners have English-speaking dentists and staff. Ask when you book, and ask for your treatment plan in English.

How do I check if a dentist is licensed in Thailand? Ask for the dentist's name and licence number and check them with the Dental Council of Thailand.

Can I use my insurance at a Bangkok dentist? Some clinics accept overseas and local insurance claims, or will fill in your claim form. Check your policy's dental cover first.
