About
ThailandBiking has built a genuine reputation among travelers seeking an alternative way to experience Bangkok and the wider country — one that moves at a human pace through neighborhoods that tour buses simply cannot reach. Operating out of the Yan Nawa district near Rama III Road, the company runs small-group cycling tours that prioritize authentic local encounters over tourist checkboxes. With a consistent track record of glowing feedback and a team of guides known by name among repeat visitors, ThailandBiking occupies a distinct space in Bangkok's transport and tour landscape.
What the Tours Actually Cover
ThailandBiking's routes are designed around communities and cultural sites that sit largely outside the standard visitor trail. One signature experience takes riders through a riverside settlement established during the reign of an early Chakri king, stopping at working Buddhist and Hindu temples where guides explain the deep interconnections between the two traditions — a detail that regularly surprises guests who assumed they were entirely separate. Routes extend beyond Bangkok as well, with offerings that reach Ayutthaya, threading through the ancient capital's historical core on two wheels in a way that walking or minivan tours cannot replicate. The focus throughout is on context: understanding why a place looks and feels the way it does.
The Guides
The guides are consistently the element guests mention first when describing their experience. Names like Oliver, Mon (Alexander), Spike, Tom, and Bas appear repeatedly in visitor accounts — a sign that this is a small, stable team rather than a revolving roster of contractors. The style tends toward the conversational and good-humored, with guides fielding questions openly and offering observations about Thai culture, religion, and daily life that go well beyond scripted commentary. For smaller groups, the dynamic often feels closer to cycling with a knowledgeable local friend than joining an organized tour. Guides also document the journey with photographs, giving guests a practical record of the experience.
Night Riding and the Bangkok Experience
One of ThailandBiking's more distinctive offerings is the night cycling tour through Bangkok, which reframes the city entirely. The heat is more manageable after dark, the light is different, and the quieter roads through residential and riverside areas reveal a version of the city that daytime visits rarely surface. Parks, canal-side paths, and temple grounds take on a different character in the evening hours, and the pace of a bike allows riders to stop, look, and absorb in a way that motorized transport does not. For travelers who have already done the standard Bangkok itinerary, the night route in particular tends to feel like a genuinely fresh perspective.
Practical Information
ThailandBiking operates seven days a week, with hours running from 07:30 to 17:00 — though evening tours suggest some flexibility around that window, so direct confirmation is worth seeking when booking a night experience. The company's base is on Thanon Rama III in the Yan Nawa area, a little south of the main Sukhumvit corridor, making it easily reachable by taxi or ride-hailing app. Tour pricing is not publicly listed and varies by tour type and group size; smaller groups may find the per-person cost higher, but the experience frequently shifts toward something closer to a private arrangement. Booking in advance is advisable, particularly during high season, given the small-group format that defines the operation.

Fantastic experience with our guide, Oliver! Biked through a quiet community in Bangkok established by King Rama II or III. Current king is Rama X. Stopped at local (not tourist) Buddhist and Hindu temples and learned so much about their beliefs. They are totally related (whichI didn't know). Also, stopped at a local Muay Thai outdoor gym and met the champ. My wife and I both had short lessons in the ring. Ended with a nice lunch at the White Elephant. Biking was easy and relaxed. Would do it again!

The tour exceeded our expectations. Riding a bike in Bangkok at night is an amazing experience. The guides (Spike and Tom) were excellent guides, they took pictures of the whole tour, and now we have amazing memories. The tour duration was 5h. We were two people so it was like a private tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.
