Mae Varee

Stopped by Mae Varee Mango Sticky Rice on a Monday afternoon while waiting for our queue at Phed Mark (we were told the wait there would take about an hour, so this was the perfect quick detour). It’s only a 10–15 minute walk between the two. As a Filipino, I can’t help but compare it to Philippine mangoes. Thai mangoes are very sweet, less fibrous, and softer (less bite). Some Filipinos might find it lacking if you’re used to that sweet-with-a-hint-of-sour flavor and a bit of fiber you can really bite into.

No intro needed for this popular stall located along Thonglor. It’s a matter of luck to hit the jackpot 🎰 with sweet mango or it could be sour. Thankfully mine was sweet. Bought 2 mango for my weekend eats - praying hard it’ll be sweet. To be honest, majority of the mango sticky rice is nice all over BKK dessert stalls. There’s no need to go all the way here to have it unless u’re around the Thonglor

Craving Thai classic mango sticky rice or more in Thonglor? Mae Varee is a well-known dessert stop right at the start of Thonglor, famous for its mango products—and they really deliver. Sweet, ripe mangoes paired with fragrant sticky rice and rich coconut cream make their mango sticky rice a classic for a reason. What I really love here, though, are the pandan layered cakes. Soft, fragrant, and beautifully made, they come in a pack of six, perfect to share or take home. The durian ice cream is also worth trying—creamy, aromatic, and surprisingly not too overpowering when frozen 😄 Always busy and full of tempting options, Mae Varee is an easy must-stop if you’re around Thonglor and in the mood for proper Thai desserts.
