Free to ask · Reply within 1 business day · One contact
A Thai private limited company is registered online with the DBD, but the hard part is the structure: who owns the shares, which activities need a licence, and how to open the bank account. Tell us your plan and a partner firm in Bangkok sets the company up correctly.
What we help with
- Thai private limited company registration (DBD Biz Regist, online only since 1 July 2026)
- Ownership structure under the Foreign Business Act
- BOI promotion applications
- Foreign Business Licence (FBL) applications
- Treaty of Amity status for US citizens and US companies
- Representative office or branch of a foreign company
- Corporate bank account opening
- VAT registration
Who it is for: Foreign founders, overseas companies that want a presence in Thailand, and expats who want to run their own business legally.

A partner firm does the work
A partner firm in Bangkok prepares the documents, files with the DBD and the other offices, and helps you at the bank. We stay your contact the whole time, so you have one person to ask.

Done
You get the result and the documents. If something comes up later, you can write to the same contact.
What to prepare
- Passport copies of all shareholders and directors
- The proposed company name and what the company will do
- The share split between Thai and foreign shareholders
- At least 2 shareholders and 1 director
- A registered address in Thailand (some banks refuse virtual-office companies)
- For foreign-majority companies: capital sent from abroad with the correct transfer description
Typical timeline: The DBD filing takes 1–3 working days, longer when foreign signatories sign by hand. End to end, including the documents and the bank account, expect 2–4 weeks. BOI approval takes about 40–90 working days, and Treaty of Amity status about 4–8 weeks.

Questions
Can a foreigner own 100% of a Thai company?
Yes, in some cases. If foreigners hold 50% or more, most service and trading activities need a Foreign Business Licence, BOI promotion or Treaty of Amity status. We tell you which route fits your activity in the quote.
Can I use Thai nominee shareholders?
No. Nominee arrangements are illegal and carry up to 3 years of prison and fines of up to 1,000,000 THB for everyone involved. We only set up legal structures.
How long does it take?
The registration itself takes a few working days. With the documents and the bank account, expect 2–4 weeks. BOI, FBL and Treaty routes take longer.
Do I need to come to Thailand?
The DBD registration is online. Thai banks usually want the signing directors in person to open the account, so plan at least one visit.
Do you give legal advice?
No. We do not give legal or immigration advice. A qualified partner firm does the work and answers the detailed questions about your case.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the structure and the licences you need. We send a fixed quote within 1 business day. Government fees are separate and are listed in the quote.
