342 Bar

Well, we were a big group of 10 friends. The first evening we went to the bar on the roof for a view, nice chat and drink. After that, in the morning, one of our group members was accused of not paying for a drink. We said that everybody paid for their drinks, but they insisted that one drink was not paid. I asked them to tell us which drink it was so that we could find more details, but then we forgot about it. ​In the evening, we were stopped at the reception again with the accusation that we had not paid for one cocktail costing 338 Thai Baht. The person who ordered the drink said, "I paid 500 Baht, and they gave me back just 100 Baht." The drink was paid!!! However, they said that we lied and showed us a video—but only the final minutes when we all stood up and walked away. I asked, "Did you watch the whole video to see if we really didn't give the money?" The reception girl said, "Oh, this is too long to watch!" We were so pissed off. I sat down and watched that "long" 20-minute video myself, and it clearly showed our group member giving the money. ​The staff informed us that a restaurant manager would come to resolve this issue. We stayed for another two nights, but absolutely nothing happened. No one came to solve it, and there was no follow-up at all. You just let the false accusation that we didn't pay hang over us. ​This includes the issue of the incorrect change. I didn't protest at the time because it was just small coins, and I intended to leave it as a tip. But now it makes me wonder: where did the money I actually paid go? I was so confident because I saw the staff trying to use the footage to prove I didn't pay, so I insisted on watching the entire video myself. That was when the truth became crystal clear. ​I am not looking for anything from your hotel. I only wanted justice and a professional way of handling the problem. Unfortunately, the way this was managed was completely incompetent and a total disaster.
