Bamee Jabkang sits in a Chinatown alleyway as pure local noodle shop, the kind drawing Thais ordering one after another at 10 AM. The menu centers Thai egg noodles — a recent favorite for many passing through — and the hectic activity with locals already halfway through bowls is convincing.

Staying in Yaowarat for the week… Took a walk around 10AM and happened to walk past this noodle shop amongst other stalls, tucked midway in an alleyway,… Thai egg noodles has become one of my favs recently, and the hectic activity with local Thais ordering one after another at this stall was too good to resist. 🤭 Not your typical Thai Wonton Noodles, but a good bowl of traditional Thai-Chinese dry noodles, with a huge amount of noodles (I am not kidding), generous slices of what I believe was pork neck (extremely tender), large wontons and green veggies. For 60 Baht (SGD 2.60), it was the cheapest or most affordable meal I have ever had in BKK! Noodles were cooked perfectly—al dente. After adding the usual table condiments (pickled crushed chillies, chilli flakes, etc.), my bowl skyrocketed to heaven. The slices of pork were tender and succulent, and the wontons were far larger and better in taste and bite when compared to other stalls (even the popular ones) that I had been to… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I asked for a bowl of soup…. and it was delicious, reminiscent of the one my late Gramps used to make ages ago, that I had not been able to replicate. Not your typical street noodles type of soup as well…. A lot more depth with some kind of “sweetness” (not from sugar) I couldn’t quite put my finger on… 👍👍👍👍👍 Washed down with a complimentary cup of ice tea. Nice food. Courteous staff… Nothing better than perched in a food stall on the side of an alleyway… 😁 Thanks for your food, and being so friendly. I wish you, the owner and the staff well. Aroi mak mak mak mak mak…

I went there 13.15pm I ordered for take away. Food already packed as in photo. Even noodle already prepared as in photo. In the past if order, then prepare and we must wait little time for fresh cooking. However, rush hours I did not know the situation. Price 50 THB/pack. (No extra topping) No parking you have to find by yourself. Recommend using public transportation.

Taste ok. Nothing special. Bought the 70B on their menu. Got only 3-4 wontons. Very disappointed.

Came because of many reviews and highly popular place. This is the first place in a long time of my street food explorations that has become an unpleasant memory. While the shady scenery could get some (me included) excited, even to perceive it as cool, and a promise of a hidden gem at that; this dark, dirty space was a little too much. Many people don’t stay to eat and take take-away, a wiser choice. Nevertheless noodle portion was enormous with a lot of soup, much less other condiments. The noodle flavor was bland, they were overcooked, soggy with strands glued in lumps. The soup was very sweet but flat in that sweetness, very watery and not even fatty as you would expect from the pork. I had to generously season it with vinegar and green chilli for any other flavor. Portion costs 50THB. I was not offered a choice of dishes (they also have noodles with wontons and braised chicken wings). I guess i was served the signature dish and only asked if with soup or dry. In my many recent discoveries i have had aplenty delicious and memorable 50thb noodle bowls. This just wasn’t one of them. I don’t recommend this place.
