Mungkorn Seafood @Sukhumvit

Very disappointing and frustrating experience. We visited this buffet BBQ restaurant with high expectations after seeing so many positive Google reviews. The online price stated 499 THB per person, but when we arrived, we were told this option was no longer available and we were forced to take the 664 THB package with drinks and desserts included. We had already travelled a long distance and spent 1.5 hours in traffic just to get here, so we decided to proceed. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible. Hygiene was a big concern. The cooked food was on one side and raw seafood on the other, and there were flies constantly flying around the food and desserts, which was very off-putting. The food quality was also poor. Out of five lobsters we took, three were black inside and clearly not fresh. Drinks tasted overly sweet and flat with no gas. The cakes and desserts were not nice either. Each person was only given one cup, which felt very inconvenient for a buffet. Service was also lacking. Staff did not guide us at all — we weren’t told how to handle the live prawns, and there was even a whole fish bigger than the grill and steamer with no assistance provided to prepare it. Everything had to be handled by ourselves. When we spoke to the manager, he was dismissive and not helpful at all. Instead of taking our concerns seriously, he kept explaining that everything was “not a problem.” He said if the soft drinks were flat, we could just switch to slush drinks. When we told him the lobsters were not fresh, he told us to eat other seafood and even mentioned that lobsters are rarely available anyway, and customers usually eat without them, so it wasn’t an issue. However, this completely missed the point. We paid the higher price expecting better quality and variety. On top of that, each person was only given one drink cup, which made it very inconvenient to change drinks. We couldn’t even pour away the bad drinks easily without wasting them or having nowhere to dispose of them. After seeing the hygiene issues and questionable food quality, we had already lost confidence and didn’t feel safe continuing to eat. We were genuinely worried about food safety and possible food poisoning. There was no apology or effort to solve the problem, which made the experience even more disappointing. Overall, this place is overpriced, unhygienic, and poorly managed. Definitely not worth the money or the long trip. Would not recommend.

Disappointing Experience at the Seafood Restaurant I was genuinely disappointed with my visit to this seafood restaurant. Right from the start, the waiter encouraged us to leave a positive review in exchange for a free lobster, which felt dishonest and made the experience uncomfortable. Honesty is important, and I couldn’t let that influence my review. The food quality was underwhelming. Most of the buffet items, like the crab, were served cold and lacked freshness. The taste was generally mediocre, and the dishes just didn’t have that vibrant seafood flavor you’d expect. Another major issue was the cleanliness. The restroom was very dirty, which definitely put a damper on the experience. In addition, be aware that the pricing is not transparent. Although the menu might list a price of 499 baht, they add extra charges once you arrive, and you can end up paying 700 or even 800-900 baht per person. It’s a bit of a bait-and-switch, which is frustrating. The shrimp was fresh, but unfortunately, the rest of the offerings didn’t live up to expectations. Overall, it was a disappointing visit, and I hope the restaurant takes these points into consideration for improvement.
