About

A hidden bar in Sukhumvit that takes some hunting to find, which is part of the appeal. Creative cocktails are the focus — the Tomyum drink earns particular attention for its subtle savory note. The interior matches the playful, slightly off-kilter name.

Visit on late night in weekday Not to many people at bar at that time The bar location is very near mrt. It is on fouth or fifth floor of cafe. The atmosphere is good. The bangkok view from window of bar is good. For cocktail, there are many signature cocktail. I tried cocktail that have some special leaf that taste and smell like oyster. There are more cocktail that inspired from other thai food such as green curry or som tam but i didn’t try. The cocktail price is ok.

It took a bit of time to find this place, which I actually enjoyed as it felt like solving a little puzzle 😅 When I finally stepped inside, it looked exactly like the photos from other reviews. It’s not a big space, but I really liked the atmosphere, cozy, intimate, and slightly private. The service was lovely, and the staff were professional and attentive. I was introduced to the menu with a charming welcome plate written with my name, which was such a thoughtful touch and showed real care for customers. I tried two cocktails, one was delicious, though the Green Curry one wasn’t quite to my taste. The shrimp roll was very good, the beef one was decent, and the fried chips were excellent. I’d love to see more light, healthy and bite-sized options added to the menu. I would definitely visit Funkytown again. It’s such a nice place to drink, relax, and unwind.

DRINKS: The drinks here are incredibly creative, unique, and unexpectedly delicious. The “Tomyum” is a must-try. It’s not savory, but has a subtle tom yum note that gently kicks in with every sip—in the best way. Perfectly mixed and beautifully balanced. DINING / AMBIENCE: This is my absolute favorite bar to bring non-Thai friends as an introduction to Thailand-inspired cocktails. The bar is tucked inside Sardines Coffee Shop on the 3rd floor. It’s spacious with plenty of seating, yet still feels cozy. There’s both indoor seating and a rooftop area overlooking EmQuartier mall, which adds to the experience. SERVICE: Service is exceptional. The staff speaks excellent English and knows the menu inside and out. You can ask for recommendations and they’ll tailor drinks to your preferences. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive.
