About

A sprawling open-air night market near Thailand Cultural Centre MRT filling the gap left by the old Ratchada train market. Brightly lit stalls and a dozen open-air seafood restaurants draw big evening crowds. Solid for Thai street food variety at accessible local prices.

Jodd Fairs Ratchada is a fantastic night market and a great place to experience Bangkok’s street food culture. There is a huge variety of food stalls offering everything from classic Thai dishes and seafood to fresh fruit, desserts and some more unusual snacks for adventurous visitors. The atmosphere is lively and colorful, with music, lights and a lot of locals and tourists enjoying the evening. Prices are very reasonable and it’s easy to try many different dishes while walking through the market. There are also small bars and seating areas where you can relax with a drink. If you want to experience an authentic Bangkok night market with great food and a vibrant atmosphere, Jodd Fairs Ratchada is definitely worth visiting.

Have been to this Jodd Fairs Night Market before, and last time it was more quiet than this time round. At the front of the market are many tables and seats. However, when we were there around 6pm it was jam packed. Not a seat available! After 10 minutes we still couldn’t get a seat so we bought drinks at the Father Beer and walked around with drinks in hand through the market instead. A can of Chang beer was 50 baht, which was fine for this type of market. There are many stalls, some with very affordable prices for clothes and accessories. There are many food places too. But, if you’re a vegetarian we thought that the food options were very limited. The opposite side of the night market was definitely less busy, and didn’t have the vibrant atmosphere of the front. So, something to consider depending on what type of environment you’re after. Plus, when we went there was a live band later on in the night. After walking around the entire market we finally got a seat in the front section. Yet, be warned that you may be sharing the table with others. A night market to check out if you’re in the area. And, if you get bored head on over to the Big C complex nearby, which has some shops and the Food Place under one roof.

Jodd fair market is a nice stop. Nothing better than walking around at night with brightly lit stalls. Many small foods, snacks. There are over 12 full sized open air restaurants offering seafood and meats. Smaller than some markets. But very clean and organized.

I first visited Jodd Fair back in 2017 (yes, a long time ago!). At that time, it was one of the best night markets to explore — full of handmade crafts and authentic Thai food. Fast forward to 2025, the market has transformed into a more modern outdoor mall-style space. The atmosphere feels different: lively but also very crowded. Some food stalls are quite expensive, and unfortunately, a few tourists don’t manage their garbage properly or talk far too loudly (EWH!) After sampling several dishes, we headed straight back to the hotel. Food we managed to try : 1. Pad Thai – 4/5 Mid-size portion, decent and satisfying. 2. Salmon Soy Salad – 5/5 A highlight! Fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly cheap at only 100 baht 💰. 3. Thai Tea – 3/5 Refreshing, but not the best version I’ve had.
