Lerkaa nail and spa

I went into this nail salon because I was staying at Niche Mono across the street while I was in Bangkok. When I called to ask if I could make an appointment, one of the ladies ended up hanging up on me because her English wasn't fluent enough. I was just about to start using Google Translate, but she didn't give me time. She did an awkward laugh and said sorry then abruptly hung up. That should’ve been a sign. I still went because it was close and I also gave her grace because of the language barrier. When I got there, I was surprised that they charged extra for every little thing. I just saw a review that said it is “expensive due to the skill level” and I would have to say I agree. I got gel polish on my nails. My nails were thin after having acrylic and I just wanted a hardening base to strengthen my nails. They said they didn’t have anything like that but instead charged me extra for a gel base that's supposed to harden it. I also wanted to get one finger with glitter polish as a topcoat, but that would’ve been an additional charge. I didn’t have time to go to the ATM for more cash and they don't take debit/credit cards, so I declined that additional fee. Plus I felt like they just try to add up the fees for every little thing. I could have justified the exorbitant costs had the service been good. The next day I looked at my gel polish, and it was already starting to chip. I noticed that she did a thin paint job, but I’ve never experienced gel polish chipping so soon so I didn’t think it would be an issue. By the second morning of having my nails done, I already had two chipped nails. I would’ve gone back in to have them fixed, but I had already left Bangkok. The hospitality was pretty good until someone walked in who spoke Thai then I was completely ignored for the remainder of my service by both nail technicians. And it wasn’t necessarily a language barrier because one of the technicians spoke English. I had to cut them off to ask about the glitter polish. I was very disappointed about my visit there. Now that I’m back in the US have to pay to get my nails fixed.. I'm very annoyed but at least I can get them the way I wanted them to look. They are a bit too plain for me, but I didn’t have the cash on me to pay all the extra fees. During my time in southeast Asia that was my worst nail experience.
