Medical School of Massage

I visited Wat Pho yesterday and had the opportunity to experience a traditional Thai massage at the birthplace of this ancient practice. The temple itself is absolutely stunning and full of history, especially the famous Reclining Buddha. After exploring the complex, we decided to try a massage at the Wat Pho Traditional Medical and Massage School. Knowing that this is where Thai massage originates made the experience even more special. The massage was very professional and authentic. It is quite different from typical spa massages as it includes stretching and pressure techniques, but it felt incredibly refreshing afterwards. The staff were friendly, skilled and respectful throughout the entire session. If you visit Bangkok, Wat Pho is a must-see not only for its beautiful temple complex but also to experience a traditional Thai massage at its true origin. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended! There's a queue, so you'll be given a number and the estimated waiting time, which in my case was 90 minutes, so it's best to come here first. Very professional, the best massage I had on my holiday. The balm they use combined with their skills worked wonders on my neck and shoulders, and it also has a cooling effect. (You get the rest of the jar with you if you choose that option, probably the same with the oil.)

This is authentic Thai medicinal massage center in sleeping Buddha temple. This is costlier than local massage centres but as it has medical benefits and is located inside the famous temple premises hence we chose this. Little bit waiting time is always expected here so plan to take massage waiting token first and then spend time to explore the sleeping Buddha temple, so till the time you explore temple your turn will come.
