About

Irish pub just steps from Phra Khanong BTS, where regulars come for the Guinness and stay for the warm, unhurried atmosphere. A solid food menu and attentive staff make it a go-to for those living or working along the lower Sukhumvit stretch.

Their daily specials are great deals with the free pint of beer, I think they should offer a daily Thai dish special alongside the western special. The bartender is very good. Some nights they have live music. Is a favorite spot for me when I'm in Bangkok which is usually half the year. Service from the staff is great. The place is not very big they need to upgrade the seating to make more room. I still love the place though.

PJ O’Brien’s in Bangkok is a little pocket of comfort and conviviality just steps from the Phra Khanong BTS exit—a place where you can exhale the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and unmistakably pubby: dark wood, lively chatter, Guinness flowing, and that easy sense that both regulars and first-timers are equally welcome. And then there’s the food. The roast beef is the real star—beautifully tender slices, cooked just right, paired with rich, glossy gravy and a proper sides that alone would justify the visit. It’s the kind of plate that makes you slow down and savor each bite, deeply satisfying and unmistakably comforting. This is honest, well-executed pub food done with care, not shortcuts. The Thai food choices are also excellent. Service is excellent throughout—attentive without hovering, genuinely friendly, and happy to make recommendations. Prices are fair, especially given the quality of the food and the generous portions, which makes PJ O’Brien’s an easy choice whether you’re dropping in for a casual dinner, a pint with friends, or a long, relaxed evening. The occasional live music and standup comedy fit well with the neighborhood atmosphere. All told, PJ O’Brien’s is exactly what a great pub should be: welcoming, reliable, and delicious. If you’re anywhere near Phra Khanong and craving a proper roast beef dinner in a lively, comfortable setting, this place will absolutely hit the spot.

Wonderful gem of an Irish bar. Right from the time you waking to after sampling the graft good or many drinks. It’s said to have the best Guinness in Thailand my Irish friends agree. The food options have just been updated with some new menu offerings. Wednesday is pizza day and two free drinks and Thursday is any pie day and a free drink. Lots of promotions to entice you in and the atmosphere is incredible friendly with wholesome food. There are several TV screens for live sports watching and the staff are incredible always smiling and happy to help. This is my local go to pub in Bangkok!
