About

Halal Thai kitchen in Silom with a focused menu of local classics prepared with care. The tom yum — sour, spicy, and made with fresh ingredients — is a standout, and the papaya salad and stir-fried morning glory round out a satisfying meal.

Finally found my go-to spot for halal chicken tom yum. Fresh, sour, and the perfect amount of chili 😙🤌🏻 I also had the spicy papaya salad and stir-fried morning glory which were also 10/10. Bonus: the street is full of fruit stalls selling very cheap fresh fruit, and there’s a mosque right across. Writing this so I remember to come back again.

The restaurant smelled very strong of soap, must’ve been freshly cleaned. But that became no issue soon enough as I was blown away by the food. The flavours are just right up my alley. The tom yam was creamy, well balance flavour and a bit spicy. Just yum. I also had the prawn cakes which were super awesome and crispy, yet soft and full of prawns inside. Would recommend as a top halal food spot in Bangkok and I cannot wait to come again in the future.

Quiet place. The food is great. Had the tom yum mixed (chicken and seafood) and also beef basil rice. Recommend to those seeking halal Thai food. P.S. if you can't handle spicy food, you might want to request for less spicy.

If you’re craving authentic Thai cuisine with the assurance of halal preparation, Silom Halal Food might just hit the spot. A group of five of us visited for dinner, and we left with full stomachs and mostly satisfied taste buds. The dishes were generous in portion and rich in flavor. We ordered quite a spread: steamed lime fish, mixed tomyam, mixed vegetables, water lily, salted egg squid, and mango salad, among a few other selections. The highlights were definitely the tomyam and the steamed lime fish — both carried that signature Thai zest and spice that we were hoping for. The flavors were bold, balanced, and unmistakably Thai, which we really appreciated. However, not everything met expectations. If you’re eyeing the roasted chicken on the menu, you might want to skip it — it turned out to be a tandoori chicken sourced from the neighboring Pakistani/Arab restaurant. It felt out of place compared to the otherwise Thai-focused offerings. As for drinks, the Thai tea was a bit of a letdown. While the taste was decent, the distinct color that usually makes Thai tea visually appealing was missing. A word of caution: if you’re planning to drive, be aware that there’s no dedicated parking, which can be inconvenient. Additionally, the restaurant is not wheelchair friendly, something worth noting for those with mobility needs. Despite the minor drawbacks, we had a good experience overall. As Muslims, we were glad to find a spot serving authentic Thai food in a halal setting. It’s a solid option if you’re looking for flavorful Thai dishes and don’t mind a few quirks along the way.
