The Black Swan

This is an English style pub which I always visit when in Sukhumvit, Bangkok. On 27 Feb 2026, I had a few pints of Guiness and a meal of roast pork there. The menu is extensive for both European and Thai dishes, and my roast pork with all the trimmings was huge and very tasty - at 450 baht, it was very reasonably priced. The staff are very warm and welcoming, and there are also four tables on a patio abutting the street to cater for smokers.

The food is excellent can’t fault it, sadly watch a pint of Guinness being pulled and the nozzle enters the beer, a little training here required, I will admit one young lady pours the pint perfectly. Done right it’s worth the wait

One of my favorite spots in Bangkok was this restaurant bar near my hotel on Soi 15. It had a great cozy atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and the option to sit in the air-conditioned interior or outside to people-watch. Conveniently located next to many massage shops, hotels and Terminal 21, it was a great place to relax and had a chill vibe. They played excellent English music, showed Premier League matches on the TVs, and offered very affordable happy hour specials that could really get you going. I tried the chicken wings—not the usual buffalo style, but with a delicious, crispy batter—and they were excellent. I’m already looking forward to returning to the Black Swan on Soi 19.
