Nightlife in Chinatown, Bangkok starts when the wholesale shops shut. Yaowarat and Charoen Krung fill with street food after dark, and the bars follow: rooftop terraces over the river, cocktail bars in old shophouses and a jazz club. Expect narrow streets and crowds on weekend nights.
Getting there: MRT Wat Mangkon and MRT Hua Lamphong are the nearest stations. Ratchawong pier connects the area to the Chao Phraya boats.
At the time of writing (October 2026), listings include TEP BAR - Cultural Bar of Thailand, BBQ RoofTop River View and BROWN SUGAR, a club with live jazz.
Before you choose: Eat first on Yaowarat, then walk to a bar: that order suits how the area works. Streets are narrow and crowded, so the MRT or a river boat is easier than a car, and clubs and hotel bars may set a dress code.
