About

AriyasomVilla in Ploenchit presents itself as a verdant oasis amid Bangkok's urban pace, set at the quiet end of a residential soi. The 1942-vintage compound blends old-world charm with lush grounds and a serene pool.

The landscaped grounds and vintage architecture create a carefully curated retreat that appeals to those seeking calm, though the secluded location requires taxis for nearby Nana Nua area exploration. Staff attentiveness consistently earns guest praise.

There's so much good about this hotel, with the staff being particularly good. The old house and grounds provide a carefully designed oasis and the location at the end of a small street is quiet but a drawback if you want to get a taxi anywhere. Unfortunately we felt the room design let it down. The en-suite uses borrowed light with internal windows, which is clever but at night the corridor light floods through. The en-suite had loose cobbles on the floor which isn't the safest idea. We had a room with connection to the next room and the sound insulation was abysmal. Next door (probably freshly arrived from Europe) started getting loud phone notifications at 2am and carried on until the morning. To end on a positive note, the Eggs Benedict is superb and we enjoyed dinner here one night, also good.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel! It has an old-timey charm with lush vegetation, a beautiful pool, and wonderful service/staff! It is at the end of a street with good privacy, but also walking distance to the Nana Nua pier so very easy to catch a ferry to where we wanted to go. It is walking distance to some fun bars like Havana Club. I absolutely loved the lotion and scented spray available in our room, and the robes and slippers were a nice addition. Our stay included several amenities like complimentary bottled water, fruit, coffee/tea, toiletries in our room and a full breakfast each morning. The food was delicious! We had breakfast here two mornings. The jam is homemade by the owner. The blue cheese that comes on the cheese board is SO good if you are a blue cheese fan. And probably the best miso soup I’ve ever had. We wish we had tried dinner here as well. I would highly recommend staying here! Thank you so much for the hospitality!

My wife suffers from acrophobia. We therefore deliberately choose this hotel (rather than any of the 5 star hotels with Infinity pool) and got a ground level room. Therefore, the setting was perfect for us. • Room: sufficient size for a 4 star hotel, relatively large bathroom, all very clean, no bugs inside, small terrace, some mosquitoes outside (terrace and pool area), hotel provides repellent FOC. • Service: friendly and competent service, helpful, organized within a few hours a private tour (limo, private guide) through Bangkok for us. • Garden & pool area: perfect to relax after a Bangkok tour. • Bar: open until midnight • Restaurant: we had lunch, Curry served was very good. • Location / site: next to hospital, however no respective noise. Going to / from the hotel by taxi can take quite some minutes due to the street being narrow and running through the hospital complex. • All in all: an unspectacular and relaxed small hotel which was due to my wife’s acrophobia ideal for us.

I stayed here because the architecture of the building was charming and beautiful, but I think it would’ve been better as a retro house tour and cafe, than a hotel. If it’s going to be a 4 star hotel, it needs to be cleaned and maintained much better in order to meet those expectations. The floors were not clean and I would frequently step on debris if I walked around barefoot. Note that this is immediately after checking in so we did not track anything in. The room also came loaded with a good helping of mosquitoes despite us never opening the balcony door, so I spent some time smacking them. The one or two I couldn’t get ended up feasting on us all night. The room smelled nice initially when the staff was showing it to us as the candles were burning and they had just sprayed the room spray, but after all of that dissipated, there was a distinct smell of urine in the bedroom. Originally I wondered if it was just an off smell from the orchids that I wasn’t used to, but the bathroom didn’t smell like it and the flowers were in there as well. This smell bothered me all night. The linens and robes also didn’t smell or feel fresh. They felt like they had been washed maybe a few weeks ago and then just left there, which doesn’t make sense if the rooms are always booked in high season. At one point when we were showering, the knob for switching the shower heads flew off and started spouting water everywhere. When I stopped the water to put it back on, I realized that it was held together by what looked like rubber bands and glue. All that being said, I think I was very disappointed because I went into this expecting a 4 star experience, but got a hotel that was not maintained well at all. The building is beautiful (especially the dining room!) and the staff were kind, but it was not worth the cost I paid.
