We were sold the floating market tour and not given the right information. 2h ride outside the city for 1h at the market and then another 2h back !!! He said pick up at 8:30am because the tour started at 9:30am. That was a LIE. Pick up was at 8:30, the market tour started at 12pm!!! There’s a great floating market 30 mins away from the city centre!!! I don’t understand why the hostel would advertise this tour and let their guests be ripped off!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!

I booked a minivan from Back Home Backpackers to Kanchanaburi for 600 THB. The evening before my departure, I asked the staff for advice on how to get there. The man working there recommended the minivan and took my payment, which I trusted as a legitimate service. Instead, the minivan dropped me at a bus terminal and placed me on a public bus without my consent. The bus was leaving much later, forcing me to buy another ticket for 120 THB myself. I could have taken that bus directly if I had wanted, instead I was charged 600 THB for a service I never received. This caused extra cost, wasted time, stress, and disrupted my travel plans. I requested a full refund, but the hostel offered only 300 THB and ignored my follow-up message. They also claimed they would stop working with the transport company, but that does not change that they failed to take responsibility and tried to shift the blame. Given that the staff advised me and took my money, this experience feels like I was scammed. In addition, I cannot recommend staying at this hostel. I chose it expecting a social atmosphere with organized activities, but that was not the case. The bed was very uncomfortable (I even left a day earlier than planned due to back pain), the shower was cold, and the overall cleanliness was poor. Future guests should know that the service may not match what is advertised, and the hostel may not take responsibility when things go wrong. I cannot recommend this hostel for either transport or accommodation. Edit: I see that they responded, but they did not refund the amount as they claim. I refused their offer of 300 baht since this was their responsibility, and I shouldn’t have to suffer the consequences. I asked for a full refund, which they completely ignored — yet now they suddenly reply to this comment. As I mentioned before, I had already bought a bus ticket myself, because otherwise I would have had to wait another 45 minutes to take a bus from a bus station (instead of the minivan from the hotel directly to Kanchanaburi). So I ended up paying extra costs as well. They are honestly scammers. Regarding the bed: all the beds are bad. I read several reviews from other guests saying the same thing, so they are lying again. And sure, there will always be people who don’t mind sleeping on something that feels like a wooden plank.
