Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market

Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market is a local market in Bang Kachao, but it’s not really a “floating market” in the classic sense. When we visited, we didn’t see boats selling food or vendors trading from boats. It felt more like a local community market near the water, with lots of street food, snacks, drinks, and small stalls selling various products. Good atmosphere and a great stop during a bike ride, just go with the expectation of a regular market rather than a true boat-based floating market.

We absolutely love this place. It’s not one of the typical floating markets tourists flock to it’s a little underrated, which makes it even more special. The warm ambiance and friendly Thai people make the experience feel genuinely local. The atmosphere just works, authentic, lively, and full of charm. We ate at boat number 64, which seems to be run by a family. They were welcoming, kind, and their boat noodles were fantastic—generous portions at a very reasonable price. Places like this are why we fell in love with Thailand even more. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a true local experience.

While staying nearby the pier , took the opportunity to explore this market . The mini ferry and bike ride to the market are quite pleasant . Please don’t expect a typical floating market with a lot of boat and river side activities . It is more like a vibrant lotsa good and and snacks variety of alley nearby the river . Like a lively food market place
