BED STATION HOSTEL KHAO SAN

I honestly can’t believe I paid €78 per night for this. I booked a private room to have the comfort and good sleep. Well… I got opposite. The room was small, dark, barely equipped and not decorated. No wander they didn’t upload any pictures to Hostelworld. Not what you expect for 78€ a night. The windows face straight into the party area, so, you hear EVERYTHING. Karaoke, music, people shouting… even the bed was vibrating from the bass. Sleeping before midnight? Impossible. Then some kind of construction starts around 4 in the morning. SO GOOD LUCK! I’m not against party hostels, but this INSANE level of noise wasn’t mentioned anywhere when booking. When I raised the issue, the staff basically blamed me for not complaining earlier and offered no solution. Different staff members were telling me different information. And apparently, there wouldn’t be any solution if I complained early anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️ so, they just left me helpless with unresolved issue. Also, your booking is non-refundable. SO BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU BOOK! And the hostel doesn’t have a shared kitchen, which honestly was such a surprise for me. I didn’t even check that in the hostel’s description because it’s such a common sense to have a shared kitchen in the hostel. So, be ready that you can’t prepare your own food here. If you’re a digital nomad, who needs to focus or value a good sleep at night, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

My partner and I have both been to bed station before and have always recommended it to friends . Rooms are nice, lots of people to meet and locations good.However we won’t be recommending to people going forward. It’s now £20 a night, I paid £6 this time two years ago, then 500baht for a pub crawl?! We feel it’s lost its charm. The social events weren’t so busy and rooms felt quiet, i wouldn’t recommend to solo travellers anymore. I don’t leave bad reviews but it was a shame to see the change in this hostel :/
