Today, I came to see the doctor with the intention of consulting about acne and acne scars. I knew the clinic had experience and used equipment comparable to that of a large hospital, so I chose to come back based on my trust in the doctor's knowledge and expertise. Personally, I have quite sensitive skin and am concerned about my skin barrier. All the questions I prepared to ask and tell the doctor were things I genuinely didn't know the answers to, and I specifically wanted to ask the doctor because I believed I would receive an explanation tailored to my skin condition. However, today, during the consultation and when I inquired about side effects and expressed some concerns, I felt the communication was quite tense and lacked understanding. Some of the comments I received didn't make me feel more comfortable as a patient, but rather made me feel shut down. I understand that the doctor has many patients and that many already trust their treatment methods, and I am one of them. This feedback probably won't affect the number of patients the doctor has, but I hope it might make the doctor reconsider that there are many other ways to communicate and provide advice without making patients feel insignificant or afraid to ask questions. I may have responded to the doctor to some extent because I expected to receive consultation in a way that was more understanding and better. That's all for now. Thank you.
