Updated Google Review Following Destination Beauty’s public response to my original review, I have updated this review to clarify my full experience and to add important context, including after reviewing my email correspondence. I waited several months before posting so I could properly heal and reflect. This review reflects my entire end-to-end experience with Destination Beauty, from consultation and decision-making through surgery, recovery, and aftercare. While the logistics and scheduling were well organised, my overall experience was disappointing. The process often felt rushed and transactional, with limited opportunity for meaningful, unhurried consultation. My concern has never been about a lack of contact, but about the quality, timing, and depth of consultation, particularly with surgeons, and how supported I felt as a person rather than as a case. For my tummy tuck revision, I had only one consultation with the surgeon. While a nurse assisted with communication, the surgeon’s limited English meant there was no real opportunity for detailed or ongoing discussion about expectations or contouring. While I acknowledge that the surgery was conducted in Thailand, Destination Beauty markets itself primarily to a Western audience. In that context, it is reasonable to expect that adequate systems and support would be in place to ensure clear, effective communication and informed consultation. The outcome, including residual fat pockets and the need for further revision, reflects this lack of depth. For my mid-face lift and chin, I met the surgeon for the first time five minutes before being taken into surgery, while already in my gown. At that point, I was told an additional procedure needed to be added to achieve the results I was seeking. This had not been raised earlier and left no genuine opportunity for reflection, a second opinion, or fully informed decision-making. Concerns were raised while I was still in Thailand, calmly and in good faith. Because of that, I expected a more human, proactive approach to aftercare once I returned home, simple check-ins to see how I was progressing, particularly knowing I was leaving unhappy and still healing. Instead, the responsibility sat entirely with me to initiate contact over the following six months. After reviewing my email correspondence, I cannot find any instance where I was proactively offered a structured surgical review or follow-up discussion that I declined. While my questions and helpdesk queries were responded to when I reached out, this was largely reactive and procedural. There was no sense of ongoing care, continuity, or relational follow-up. For me, that falls short of what good patient care and customer experience should look like, particularly after concerns had already been raised. I later required additional liposuction, including micro-suction, because key areas were not adequately addressed initially or during revision. I was also left with chest deformities following gynaecomastia surgery where tissue was removed but not adequately sculpted. My rating reflects the totality of this experience, consultation, timing of critical information, outcomes, and aftercare. I share this so future patients understand where they may need to strongly advocate for themselves, and in the hope that a more human, patient-centred approach can be taken in the future. Unfortunately, I am unhappy with my results and would not return to or recommend Destination Beauty.
