Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel Bangkok on Rama 9 Road

Great Customer Service My elderly father had to attend the annual meeting of a sport association at this hotel. I called the hotel in advance asking for a parking spot nearest the hotel entrance so my father's driver can assist him off the car and lead him to the function room. Ms. Gem asked the car's license plate number, and upon arrival at the designated area, the driver found a good space with a sign hanging of our license number. Even though my father was not a staying guest, and merely attended an afternoon meeting at the hotel, they extended their hospitality to meet our request. I truly appreciate this mindful service.

This is a decent hotel with a decent pool. The location is a bit hard to find, especially at night. Flew in from the US and arrived late, around 2 am. The taxi driver charged 400 Bht, and didn’t use the meter so he probably over charged me, but even he had trouble finding the hotel and he is Thai. It’s a nice older hotel. Past its prime but still in pretty good shape and everything worked. It has a decent pool but not much of a view. The breakfast is very nice with lots of food options. I would probably stay here again if I needed a hotel in the area and wanted a pool.

A good hotel with amenities that are needed for short or long stay. Staff good, courtesy filled. I stayed 2 nights. I faced a common problem as in many hotels, bottled water and no filtered drinking water. For that reason, I have scored them less and service got 3 stars. When I asked for simple filtered water at the lobby restaurant service person told me that they only serve bottled water. I usually filled my water bottle in restaurant to replenish thirst in the room without opening a plastic bottle. I was forced to do so at night. I hope the hotel ensure that it serves plain filtered water.
