About

A Bangkok institution for jok, the silky rice porridge ladled out from a perpetually busy stall. The version here carries a subtle smokiness, and pork and organ toppings arrive fresh and well-cooked. Arrives fast and costs almost nothing.

Silky smooth congee, it has a tinge of smokiness which adds to the overall umami of the pork and egg. We got the one with all the ‘nutritious organs’ - fresh and well cooked. Ratio of porridge to condiments were good too. The patango was the unsung hero - perfectly fried and most importantly not greasy at all! You have to pair it with the cover. Menu is simple and straightforward - so not much communication is needed. Just point at the combo u want and take a seat!

One of the Best Bowls of Jok in Bangkok — Truly Exceptional Jok Prince absolutely lived up to its reputation. The porridge here is on another level — smooth, comforting, and packed with that signature smoky flavor they’re known for. It’s simple food done with real mastery, and easily one of the best bowls of jok I’ve ever had. The place has that classic Bangkok street‑food charm, and you can tell why so many people recommend it. The flavors are deep, the texture is perfect, and the whole experience feels authentic in the best way. If you’re in Bangkok and want to try a truly standout porridge, Jok Prince is a must‑visit. I’d happily come back for another bowl.

One of the best porridge i had! Came here twice and never a let down. Their porridge has got a special wok hey smell and the pork meat is fresh. My friend who is very conscious with pork smell says this porridge has no porky smell. They alsl serve fried dough which is crispy and tasty! Must order! Will be here everytime i visit bangkok!

Whether you like this porridge is very subjective. It has a distinctive burnt smell - something like the charred smell in claypot rice but much stronger. When I ate it a few years ago the taste was quite bland and you had to add fish sauce at the table to suit your own taste preference. But now the porridge is served with the fish sauce added during cooking and the saltiness already locked in. Great pork balls and internal organs. I would have preferred the century egg to be cooked with the porridge from the start rather than adding it just before serving.
