An aesthetically pleasing place. Very beautiful. Attentive staff. Great Matcha. But the seating is uncomfortable for elderly patrons.

Stumbled upon this small but beautifully designed café inside One City Centre and instantly fell in love with its unique, matcha-themed aesthetic. Every detail from the décor to the menu feels carefully curated for matcha enthusiasts. I tried one of their signature matcha drinks, and it was smooth, earthy, and perfectly balanced. Ended up buying their house matcha powder, which they also sell on-site great quality! If you’re into matcha or just curious to try something new, Kansas Matcha is a must-visit. Calm vibe, great flavors, and a truly standout concept.

Ah Moon

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a good matcha while sitting in a beautiful café, this is the one to choose. The shop has a unique decoration style and is located right in the heart of Bangkok — in the Phloen Chit area. It has even won a People’s Choice Award, and it’s very convenient to get to — just about a 3-minute walk from Phloen Chit BTS station. The prices are fair, and their snacks are quite special, making it a comfortable and enjoyable spot overall.

The Traveler

Please allow me to preface this by saying I'm not a matcha person and this is only my 2nd time trying matcha. The 1st time was just 2 days ago at a specialty coffee place that also happened to be selling Matchazuki Matcha based drinks and we decided to try out their coconut milk based Iced Matcha and it was really really good, I instantly fell in love with that particular drink. My wife too had it for the 1st time and absolutely loved the experience. So yesterday we decided to up our game and try out ceremonial grade matcha from a matcha exclusive place and we ended up here. First thing, the store although has a canyon looking interior, it's deceptively smaller than the photos will lead you to believe, at any given time 6-8 people can sit comfortably and that's a stretch. Based on the store's recommendation and our disinterest towards an Umami aftertaste, we gave up on Coastal breeze and settled for Silenced Highland (sounds like a Nordic thriller series) and opted for Oat milk as that was recommended and seemed like a top choice at that point of time, although my wife strongly suggested we go with pistachio milk. Let me tell you, I didn't like it, not one bit. The aftertaste of matcha was so strong which leads me to agree to my wife that perhaps pistachio milk would have in some way neutralized the matcha and made it tastier, smoother and less obnoxious. My wife too agrees that she didn't like it at all and cannot compare it to the beauty of the coconut milk based matchazuki matcha. For the rest of the day I had to keep hearing about why I should have listened to my wife and ordered pistachio milk instead of the store's suggestion of Oat Milk. Not being matcha savvy I decided to listen to the experts. No hate, but for now, I'm not going to gamble again and will happily stick to my dark roast espresso with beautiful dark chocolate & and nutty notes. Matcha somehow seems like a hype and people following the bandwagon and conforming to be part of the herd, unlike espresso which has character, in my opinion, again no hate to Matcha lovers. To each their own.
