New Siam Riverside

New Siam Riverside feels extremely dated the moment you arrive. The corridors carry a heavy, old smell — almost like a place that has not truly changed in decades. It feels aged rather than charming. The room is clean, which is the one reassuring point. Housekeeping clearly maintains it well. However, the atmosphere is rather sad and tired. The furniture, lighting, and overall design make the space feel neglected instead of welcoming. The pillows are very high and uncomfortable, making it difficult to rest properly. The flooring is the biggest drawback. It looks worn and cheap, and immediately lowers the quality of the room. Even with cleanliness, the floor makes everything feel budget and worn out. The only bright spot is the people. The reservation staff were warm and smiling, and the male staff were genuinely helpful and kind — they made the stay feel a little lighter. Breakfast was disappointing and felt lifeless, with very little energy or appeal. The guests staying here tend to be older, which matches the overall feeling of the property itself — quiet, dated, and a bit stuck in time. That said, the location is excellent, especially if you are attending a running event at Thammasat. For convenience, it works. For comfort or atmosphere, it falls short for this price.

Great location near the most amazing night life. The hotel was just average, booked a deluxe room 4th floor. The rooms are so noisy, you can hear your neighbours, we were unfortunate that ours who had our connecting door !decided at 4 am to start screaming and moving furniture. At 6.30 am the doors all start to go. The pool is lovely. The river view is also great, breakfast was OK, I think it was not fresh juice..no croissants or pastries. We opted for half board, that means in the evening you get a choice of one main dish of a 6 choice list..not even water was offered..won't be taking that again and gave our meal tickets back... fortunately only booked 3 nights. Some of the staff are very sour faced, including the pool bar lady.. This hotel wants over 100 pounds a night at the moment, I paid 72 a night with booking.com. Not sure what the black marks are, and we may have been unlucky. Deluxe has a seating area. see photo..

This hotel is somewhat dated but clean and comfortable. While the breakfast is not our preferred choice, it is satisfactory. We always had lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant during our stay, as it provided the best food and eliminated the need to seek out other restaurants. The hotel staff are polite and helpful, which we greatly appreciate. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Their restaurant and staff deserve a special mention for their excellent food and services.
