About

About PAfé by Friends in Need (of PA) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross

PAfé is a café on Thanon Phetchaburi in the Phaya Thai area, run by the Friends in Need (of PA) Volunteers Foundation of the Thai Red Cross. Reviews mention a colonial-style building, good coffee, drinks that are not very sweet and friendly staff. A tea set with desserts is also on offer.

It has a 4.8 Google rating from about 250 reviews (November 2026).

The café is open Monday to Friday and closed at weekends. Seats are limited, and one guest waited a long time for a tea set in the afternoon, so come earlier in the day. Reviews say the door opened at 9:00, not 8:30. Buses stop at King Petch stop, a short walk away.

It is on Petchaburi Road, coming here by any bus and getting off at King Petch Stop (or Petchaburi Soi 5), then walk back to this PAfe for less than 10 metre. The property is easily seen from main road. It shows less of cafe vibe from exterior, but visitors are welcome. Notice the bigger sign of the foundation under the patronage of PA, (pra-Ong-Pa, as her well known that Thais are allowed to address her with loving and kind manner when mention or talk to the Princess)

According to Google Maps, the opening hours are listed as 8:30 AM – 5:50 PM. We arrived shortly after 8:30 AM, but the front door was still closed. We could see staff inside, and one staff member kindly opened the door for us and informed us that the café officially opens at 9:00 AM, though we were welcome to sit inside, which we appreciated. At 9:00 AM, we were able to order coffee and some snacks. However, when we asked about breakfast food, we were informed that food would only be available starting at 11:00 AM. Since our plan was to enjoy both coffee and breakfast, we eventually had to leave and eat at another restaurant. Overall, the experience was pleasant, and the staff were polite. I’m not sure if this was due to misunderstanding or unclear information online, but it might be helpful to clarify opening hours and food service times on Google Maps to avoid confusion for first-time visitors.

This place is ran by the Friends In Need Volunteers Foundation Thai Red Cross. A very nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the coffee? Really good quality and the prices are absolutely acceptable. Recommendable.

Good location at center of Bangkok with colonial building style. Car parking is very limited. Foods are quite dissatisfied with long waiting time, as I booked the tea set at 2.00 pm and i had my set at 2.45 pm 😒. Not to mention about the amount of desserts serving portions are 🍮 just like when you give a treat to Chinese shrine. Also the price is quite high in contrast with quality. Service was not well organized enough. Too crowded between the tea tables. I was prepared for serene afternoon tea break with my family but it turn out to be not as I expected.
