Silom Serene, a Boutique Hotel

Great location. Bout 350m to BTS station Chong Nonsi, and about 550m to Sala Daeng station. Lumpini Park nearby and lots of food stalls right outside the hotel. If you are into night market, the is one about ten minutes walk from the hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights, very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Where the sidewalk ends . . . Silom Serene is steps from the main road but down a perilous side street with no good sidewalk. It’s not fair to describe Serene as “faded glory” as it was never very glorious and there’s not a paint surface that isn’t scuffed or a carpet that doesn’t show wear. The rooms are large, the beds comfortable and the aircon is effective and can be controlled. Security is fair (no card access on the elevator). Housekeeping was meticulous and respectful; laundry took unusually long 3 days) to return. I didn’t like the breakfasts as I was looking for more western fare but I acknowledge that’s a minority view. The swimming is little more than a splash pool but the fitness room was adequate. Staff made up for deficiencies by good spoken English and cheery greetings. The hotel appears to attract elderly budget travelers. On balance, I’d probably stay here again.

We booked the 1-bedroom suite and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Friendly and helpful staff. The room was super clean, spacious, and we liked the separate shower and bath area. Tiles in the shower room get very slippery so do be extra careful. Our room was very quiet, which helped us have a good night’s sleep. Excellent location, close to a day food market / shopping alley, plenty of eating spots, bakery and bar, and walking distance to Sala Daeng BTS and Si Lom MRT. Steak at the on site restaurant was great for the price!
