About

A boutique hotel in Chinatown with meticulously curated decor that transports guests into another era entirely. The in-house restaurant and bar are worth a visit even without a stay — food, drinks, staff, and music all earn their keep.

(Reviewing the Hotel, not the restaurant) One of a kind hotel, a truly unique (and fantastic) experience! Mustang Blu’s decor and design is meticulously curated, and you feel transported into another world the moment you step through the front door. Despite the hotel featuring an antique/ vintage style, the rooms had all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay - lock safe, toiletries, a mini fridge, hair dryer, and even a steam iron. Wifi signal was great. Bed was super comfortable with the best pillows I’ve ever slept on! And the shower has separate knobs for Hot and Cold water which means I can FINALLY adjust the shower water temperature to my liking! The hotel is located at Hua Lamphong - the MRT station is about 5-7 minutes away (the MRT will connect with both the BTS and also Airport Rail Link), and Chinatown and Song Wat Road are about just 15 minutes walk. The neighbourhood is quiet, and pretty safe. Service was warm and hospitality was great! Some points to highlight: 1. Breakfast has to be reserved/ ordered the day before; I’d recommend not to skip this as breakfast at Mustang Blu is a separate experience on its own - the food is fantastic!! 2. As the building itself is very old, there are no elevators. There are just 3 floors, and the hotel staff are more than happy to help with luggage, but persons with disabilities should take note Overall - great stay and great experience, especially if one is looking for a different experience in Bangkok

While this place has received so many complaints in my eyes the restaurant is truly a gem. We really enjoyed food & drinks. The staff had our attention whenever we needed it. Music was perfect for the mood. Even though they have a minimum order requirements it’s not the first place that filters their audience. It feels very reasonable since on instagram you can see many inappropriately erotic outfit photos around this heritage building. Thank you for opening this building for public, we made some special memories there. 🖤

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The restaurant offers a refined atmosphere complemented by pleasant classical music and warm, attentive hospitality. The café and dining spaces are beautifully designed, creating a welcoming and elegant ambience. Although the building has been newly refurbished—so much so that even our driver had difficulty locating it—the interior has been thoughtfully preserved and tastefully decorated in a charming vintage style. From a foodie’s perspective, the food and beverages truly stand out—crafted with fresh, high-quality, real ingredients and prepared with great care, clearly reflecting the team’s commitment to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction.

It is a bit of a turn off that the first thing you are greeted with upon entering the restaurant is a sign explaining the "rules" that you need to order two items per person. I presume a restaurant should be a dining "experience" based on what someone actually wants to eat and pay with their own money. Instead, to me, it comes off cold and makes you feel less like a guest and more like you're just a wallet taking up space for a period of time. Even 1 item might make more sense. I was thinking to myself are they going to kick me out if I just wanted a dessert here? Anyways, if you care more about taking pictures for your Instagram, then maybe you might enjoy this. But, for most people just wanting to eat and enjoy, I would say this isn't worth it.

I went for lunch and ordered four items including drinks: the Submarine risotto, potato fries, an iced chocolate, and a molten chocolate cake. Unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing. The iced chocolate tasted very bland, almost like diluted melted chocolate. The risotto was undercooked and still hard, and the sauce was too watery. The shellfish and squid were fine, but the shrimp was undercooked and had a very strong fishy smell, to the point that I couldn’t eat it. If you check the CCTV, you will see that I didn’t eat the shrimp I had to spit it out because of the smell. Overall, the food quality was poor. The cake was not good, and even the fries were not enjoyable, which says a lot. However, the atmosphere was very nice. One thing to note is that the perfume scent inside the restaurant was extremely strong when entering.
