The Pattern Boutique Hotel

We purposely chose this hotel slightly away from the main sightseeing areas because we wanted a quieter stay—and it delivered. The hotel is located in an alley, which makes a noticeable difference. You don’t hear the constant traffic or honking from the main road. We stayed in Room 402, which has a small balcony overlooking a residential area. It’s a pleasant view, but given how hot it was, we didn’t spend much time outside. One night there was a thunderstorm, but the air conditioning worked very well. Keep in mind that the electricity shuts off when you remove the key card, which is standard practice in many hotels. The room includes a large refrigerator with a proper freezer compartment, which is convenient for storing drinks and simple food items. There’s no in-room cooking setup, but there is a shared microwave on the second floor, which we used a few times. The TV turned on, but we couldn’t access any channels. Wi-Fi was inconsistent—functional about half the time, unreliable the rest. Daily housekeeping is provided, though we opted out. We simply placed our trash bin outside for collection and requested toilet paper as needed (they provide one roll per day). Two complimentary bottles of water are also provided daily. One practical advantage is the location. It’s about a five- to six-minute walk across the river to the BTS station, making it easy to access major shopping areas like CentralWorld, Siam Paragon, and the broader Siam district. A Grab ride to the airport takes approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. The reception staff were generally helpful. The team also operates White Ivory Hotel, which is located on the main road at the corner. A practical feature worth noting: there’s a washing machine on every floor. After washing, you can dry your clothes in a designated area on the first floor. The machine on the fourth floor cost 35 baht in coins per use, and you’ll need to purchase detergent separately (for example, from 7-Eleven). Overall, it was a decent and reasonably comfortable four-night stay, especially if you prioritize quiet surroundings with convenient BTS access.

Small 4 storey hotel down a quiet Soi in bustling downtown Thonburi. We booked the studio, 3rd floor with views towards city. Local vibe, plenty of eateries, coffee shops, streetfood carts, CJs and 7-11 mini marts. Local night market 10mins walk away, Local prices too. Friendly, safe area yet its old town so expect it to be rough around the edges. Hotel is clean, well serviced and all staff kind and welcoming. Breakfast is delicious and served on ground floor coffee shop. Rooms do not come with tea/coffee yet do have kettle and mugs. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower. Room safe, albeit small so couldn't fit ipad. Bottled water and housekeeping daily. Airport shuttle available. Small area with 2 x PCs, internet cafe vibe. This side of the river offers so much more than central Bangkok. 5-8 min walk to BTS Krung Thon Buri, 15-20 to Wat Sawetachat for Orange ferry yet only runs before 9.15am and after 3pm currently so to take any ferry up/down Chao Praya river take the BTS to Saphan Taksin which is right next to Saphorn pier N3.

Lovely and spotless clean hotel just five minutes from the MRT Station. 7Eleven is across the road as well as many local food stalls. It's quiet and offers a work space as well, the cafe on the ground floor is lovely as well. The staff is extremely friendly, room gets cleaned every morning and all for a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend it with no doubts!
