This is the hotel where time has stood still. We were there 15 years ago and nothing has changed. The good is still fantastic, the service, the location, the pool, the restaurants. We took the sunset cruise and it was an amazing time, highly recommended. The bad like no charging ports beside the bed is not acceptable in 2026, overall there is not many places to charge phones, laptops, iPads, clocks etcetera. But the really bad is that the wait time for the elevators is beyond pathetic. We waited for at least 5 minutes every time, the longest we waited was 15 minutes but then we started walking down the stairs. This is not acceptable for a hotel that claims its 5 star. We’ve stayed at Mandarin, Ritz Carlton, Waldorf and never waited for more than 2 minutes anywhere. I understand this is a failure in design but that doesn’t help me as costumer. But when you pay 5 star prices you expect things to work smoothly and sorry to say this was a bit frustrating for us. With so many fantastic choices in Bangkok I’m not sure we’ll be back next time in Bangkok.

Iconic Concierge

We recently stayed at The Peninsula Bangkok for our very first visit to Bangkok, and even after seeing several other luxury hotels during our trip, we can confidently say — we absolutely made the right decision. From the moment we landed, the experience was seamless. The concierge team arranged VIP fast-track service at the airport (highly recommended), and we were greeted by their driver in a beautiful BMW 7 Series — an elegant start to our stay. (They offer several vehicle options, which is a wonderful touch.) The location is exceptional — right on the Chao Phraya River, offering a true sense of tranquility. The hotel sits set back from the street, so you don’t see or hear any traffic noise, which creates an incredible feeling of privacy and calm. Yet at the same time, you’re within walking distance of the luxury ICONSIAM mall, and the hotel’s private shuttle boat makes it even easier, transporting guests across the river and directly to ICONSIAM throughout the day. Every room and suite faces the river, which is such a rare and special feature. Our spacious suites on the 24th floor offered sweeping views and felt both grand and inviting. We loved the charming, warm décor — timeless, elegant, and very much in keeping with The Peninsula’s classic style. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The concierge team handled all of our excursions flawlessly and even surprised us with beautifully prepared breakfast boxes when we had early morning departures — without us even having to ask. We also thoroughly enjoyed the spa, the hotel’s restaurants, and especially breakfast served on the riverside patio. The setting alone is unforgettable, and the expansive buffet was one of the best we’ve experienced — beautifully presented with exceptional variety and quality. Additional touches truly elevated the stay: daily in-room treats ranging from fresh fruit to delicious house-made pastries, a stunning and private pool area exclusively for guests, and the overall sense that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. We highly recommend The Peninsula Bangkok and would absolutely stay there again on our next visit to this incredible city.

Dolittle Dolittle

We had a very pleasant stay overall and were very happy with the hotel, albeit the rooms are somewhat dated. We also would have appreciated someone showing us around the room. We for example found provided charging cables on the last day. The staff were friendly and professional, through out the hotel. Housekeeping did a great job, and the atmosphere in general was welcoming and relaxing. However, we would like to point out something regarding the “Stay 3 nights, pay for 2” offer. While it sounds like a great deal, it turned out that breakfast was not included in this package, which was not clearly communicated at the time of booking. When booking a regular stay (without the promotion), breakfast is included. For us, the cost of breakfast for three days ended up being roughly the same as what the third night would have cost. In other words, there was no real saving, and the final total was essentially the same as booking normally with breakfast included. We still enjoyed our stay very much, but we feel the terms of this offer could be communicated more clearly, as discovering this at check-in created irritation after a long trip, rather than the pleasant experience of finally arriving.
