The Quarter Silom by UHG
Informal rooms in a contemporary hotel featuring an outdoor pool, a restaurant & a hot tub.
About
A comfortable boutique stay in Silom with an outdoor pool and hot tub. Rooms are clean and well-appointed, and the front desk team — particularly staff member Nai — earns consistent praise for going well above expectations. Good value for the neighborhood.

Just completed my 4th stay and was impressed as always. Rooms are comfortable though ammenities could be more comprehensive (e.g., no shaving kit, body lotions, bathrobe, slippers). Still, excellent value with a nice gym and pool. Great location - near Lumpini Park, Foodland groceries, Patpong Market, bars, and transportation. Above all else, it's the staff that will keep you coming back. They are unfailingly friendly and accommodating. Can't wait for my next visit!

I felt genuinely welcomed during my stay, especially thanks to one of the receptionist Nai’s amazing support. He was always smiling and thoughtful, helped me store my suitcase, thinking in my shoes. All his small gestures made me feel the warmth of Thai hospitality (beyond the weather!!). The location is fantastic—right by the gayest part of the city (yay!) and within easy walking distance of public transport. The only downside is the desk is a bit small, so keep that in mind if you plan to work here.

Really enjoyed staying here. Location is great, staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast is more than sufficient, rooms/bathrooms are modern and comfortable (although as other reviews have pointed out the balconies are balconies in name only). Very good value for money. Only real complaint is that our room smelled from cigarette smoke even though smoking inside is supposedly not allowed. Not bad enough to change rooms, but could definitely smell it every time we walked in. Also, noise from other guests late into the night was annoying on one occasion, but otherwise 3 of the 4 nights we stayed were very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Negative Reviews
Overall, the hotel was okay, but nothing special. We stayed here for one night before heading home, and for that purpose it was acceptable. When we checked in, there was a very unpleasant smell in the lobby, similar to rotten eggs. The check-in process was quite extensive and felt a bit rushed. I would have appreciated a friendlier and more welcoming approach. The neighborhood was not really to our taste. There are many massage places in the area, mostly catering to men, and the red-light district is also nearby. The area seems to be aimed at a specific crowd, which is something to be aware of before booking. The room itself was quite noisy, but thankfully the neighbors were mostly quiet, so we slept well. The mattress was rather hard, and the shower has a frosted glass wall facing the bed area, which is a matter of personal preference. The hotel has only five floors, so the rooms are not very bright. It was fine for one night, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Location is great. 8 mins walk to Sala Daeng BTS. Lots of massage places as you walk towards the BTS. Close to Patpong night market, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is poorly maintained with aging, dirty and uncomfortable sofas in the lobby areas. The chairs in the restaurant are no better. It’s time for an upgrade. Amenities are ok. Swimming pool is sandwiched between the gym and the restaurant. The guest rooms are not sound proofed. You will hear everything coming from the rooms beside and on top of yours. Noisy till 1am! Very disappointing. Water pressure is really BAD. Very hot water will suddenly broil you when other rooms are showering at the same time. Housekeeping DO NOT CHANGE the sheets and pillow cases daily. Wonder if they do the same when a guest checks out? I was witnessing this when the housekeeper was in my room. They just fluffed and flipped the pillows over, with drool stains and hairs left for you to sleep over it. The entire process of “housekeeping” took no longer than 10 minutes. And, no wonder. The room I booked is a superior room with balcony. Balcony opens up to a car park lot! Don’t be fooled by “room with balcony” scam, it’s not worth it. Breakfast is mediocre at best. Cheap meats cooked in a variety of ways for the continuous 3 days whilst I was staying there. Limited selections available at times and some mornings, no bacon offered. Eggs à la carte which is a consolation. Coffee machines make great coffee. Thank god! Endnote ~ This hotel really needs some serious upgrades. It’s a room night away of being redundant.
