Urbana Sathorn

We stated here for 2 nights on the 25th floor. The suite is very spacious, 2 rooms well over 1000 square feet with fully equipped kitchen. The views are pretty nice, the location is great. However the furniture’s are a little dated, the plugs on the wall are poorly designed and made it hard for us to charge our electronic devices. The wifi signal is pretty weak in the suite, I can not get a signal in the bedroom most of the night, the download speed test is only about 15 mbps, tested multiple times, not to mention for some reason the cell reception is also bad on the 25th floor(1-2 bars for AIS and True). Other then that I have experienced longer then usual waiting time for hot water in shower, the longest time I have waited is around 4 minute. The hotel breakfast buffet is awesome for the price of 300 baht per person if you have a group of 3 or more. The gym is in ok condition (7/10). The edgeless swimming pool is gorgeous. All in all this is not a 5 star hotel as advertised on booking.com. It is at most a 4 star, judging from someone who majored in hospitality and tourism.

Much better than expected, considering some of the reviews below. Main factor to be aware is that Urbana is a service apartment more than an actual 5 stars hotel, which brings pros and cons. For exemple, huge rooms, but few amenities. Wonderful pool, great location, and I had very nice experience with all staff I met. So it is very worth the price (CBD!), and we will come again.

Very nice - not a 5 star, and definitely feels like it's seen better days, but the rooms are offered at a very fair price. Bed was super comfy. Got highest sleep score I've had in forever in this bed. Breakfast very well done w wide array of foods offered from 6am to later morning. Not gourmet but better than I was expecting. Pool is gorgeous. A fair amount of westerners relaxing at the pool getting in sun early and lounging all day. Drinks and food served at pool. You get more than you pay for at Urbana. It's definitely not the same as an international hotel brand for 2x or 3x the price. But if you're ok with really nice and not luxury then why not save a few hundred bucks a night. I feel the negative reviews of this property were people expecting the same services of a hotel that costs more. I've enjoyed this hotel even in it's worn down state.
