VELA Dhi GLOW Pratunam

We stayed at this hotel for three days, and the staff were exceptionally nice and friendly. Our room was cleaned thoroughly, and the meals were delicious. Whenever I had a question, the staff answered kindly and even gave helpful recommendations. We truly couldn’t have enjoyed this trip without their support. If I return to Thailand, I would definitely choose to stay here again!

The best thing about this place is definitely the service from the front of house staff. Really appreciated the bellboy for assisting to direct our grab driver to the porch so that we could easily load our luggages. The staff were also generally friendly. Location is great for shopping since it’s situated opposite Platinum Plaza and also the general Pratunam area, but not great for grab rides. Because it’s located on the main road, we at times got alighted opposite the road which meant we had to take the overhead bridge to get back to the hotel. It’s also located quite a distance from the nearest train station so not ideal for public transportation. Lobby is located on the 7th floor so it’s a little troublesome to have to take 2 lifts to get to your room, didn’t help that it seemed like the air con for the hotel lift was down and it felt like a sauna at times. Room wise was decent although cleanliness could be improved - quite a bit of dust and hair was trapped under the table. Also, despite it being non-smoking, one of the bed sheets smelt like smoke. Pillows provided were a little too high (even the softer one was high) to be comfortable. I ended up sleeping with my neck pillow. Breakfast was alright. The spread was decent but the food quality was meh, would say it’s one of the not so good ones I’ve ever had. The only 2 things I thought was great was the egg station and the lemon butter that they had. Somehow the Thai dishes were subpar. Also, had wanted to go for a swim but the pool didn’t look the cleanness, so gave up on that. Would probably not book this again. For a 4 star hotel, I expected more.

Rooms are spacious and clean! Very good pillows and mattress for good sleep. Convenient location with a 24 hour MacDonalds just downstairs with lotsa food stores just downstairs. The building has wholesale fashion shops in the 1st level. Hotel lobby is at 7th level of the building. The only down part is that it isn’t neat a BTS station. Getting a Grab out in the area is tricky as it is always traffic jam, plus construction in the main road. If you are planning to be in Pratunam area for most of the time, perfect. Otherwise getting out of the area will be quite a pain.
