Maple “Maple” Stokes

I had a wonderful stay at Voco Bangkok Surawong. The hotel is beautiful, unique, and very trendy. I was impressed from the moment I walked in — the atmosphere and design are really stylish and welcoming. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. Special thanks to Khun Knot, the Guest Experience Manager, who was incredibly kind and helpful. As an IHG member, I truly felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. The room was very clean and well-equipped with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The restaurant staff were also very friendly and well-trained, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. This was my first time staying here and I’m very impressed. I will definitely come back again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bangkok.

Had such a wonderful breakfast experience at the hotel this morning! ☀️ A special thank you to Gam, the hostess, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Her warm smile and great energy really set the tone for the whole morning. Honestly, she’s the kind of person who makes you want to come back again! The rest of the team was just as lovely Charon, Poon, and Iris were all so kind, attentive, and helpful throughout breakfast. And a shoutout to Get, our waiter, who took great care of us and made sure everything was perfect. It’s always the people who make the biggest difference in a stay, and this team truly made our morning special. Thank you all for the amazing service! 👏

Overall, the stay was pleasant and comfortable. The hotel is new with a modern design, and the room was well appointed with a comfortable bed, nice bath amenities, a thoughtful welcome gift, and a beautiful view of the Mahanakhon Tower. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made a positive impression throughout the stay. I want to give special thanks to the lady who checked me in for her professionalism and kindness. Despite the delay in room availability, she offered a drink voucher as a gesture of compensation. Special thanks as well to the concierge, Khun Max, for his helpful assistance, and to Khun Knot for the follow-up call that allowed me to share feedback about my guest experience. This definitely showed that he truly cared. In terms of improvement, the check-in process could be more efficient, as the waiting time was around one hour due to limited staffing at the counter. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety of food and a pleasant atmosphere; however, some hot food items were not refilled when arriving after 9:30 a.m. on the first day. Additionally, communication could be improved, as the staff member handling my late check-out request by phone seemed unsure and asked me to visit the counter instead. Having more staff support and clearer coordination, especially during peak hours, would further enhance the guest experience. Overall, the team’s efforts and hospitality are commendable. Please keep up the good work.

I stayed here for 4 days. I feel like this hotel is a 5star wannabe but definitely not. A lot of fundamental things are missing. Here are my observations and comments about VOCO Bangkok: Check-in was smooth, welcomed with refreshment drinks and mango sticky cookies which was a cute idea but the cookies are too sugary for my taste. Staff were friendly and helpful too:) When it comes to the room, i have very very mixed feelings towards it. First start with the things i liked: - Interior design (bright, open, and colorful with wooden floor) - Bed is very comfortable, firm and not too hard, - Creative minibar items - Quiet (out room was facing the pool) Now for the things i didnt like: - Windows are surprisingly quite dirty regarding the fact that this hotel just opened for 2 months - Drain in the shower room was clogged which i have seen several people mention in the reviews so apparently it’s an issue not only for this room - Pipe under the sink has issue with water leaking - Room cleaning is really mediocre. floor is still dirty and full of hair, they took away one of the bathrobe and didnt replace us a new one, two days in a row they forgot to replenish tea and coffee For the Breakfast, I enjoyed it a lot, plenty of options. i love that they serve sourdough and the bread is mostly fresh:) Fruits are abundant too, they even have snake fruits, longans and jack fruits which i dont see very often in hotel breakfast. I personally find the AC was way too strong indoor, which i also overheard other people complaining about it too. As for the Pool, it is beautifully designed, i love the double sun-bed with shade. however, there is a construction just next to it so it was very noisy, and it completely disturbs the peaceful vibe there. For the neighbourhood, i found it very loud and noisy. it’s next to a busy road with traffic, its also full of bars and night clubs. If you come here for that then it’s probably not a problem for you. Overall, it was not a horrible stay. I see still a lot of potential in here, definitely need some improvement, hence the three stars:)
