Transport in Khao San, Bangkok starts with the river. The backpacker quarter around Khao San, Rambuttri and Phra Arthit roads has no BTS or MRT station, so boats, taxis and rented bikes carry much of the travel. Tour shops here target visitors heading to the Grand Palace and beyond.

Getting there: MRT Sam Yot is about a 20-minute walk. The Chao Phraya boat to Phra Arthit pier (N13) is the alternative, and taxi or Grab work from other districts.
