Shopping in Khao San, Bangkok mixes backpacker stalls with older trade shops in Banglamphu. Jewellers and tailors sit on the same streets as souvenir sellers, and the Grand Palace is close. Visitors come here for gifts and fast-made clothing as much as for the road itself.
Getting there: no BTS or MRT station is within easy walking. Use a taxi, Grab or a Chao Phraya Express boat to Phra Arthit pier (N13). The nearest MRT, Sam Yot, is about a 20-minute walk.
At the time of writing (October 2026), listed places include LEE SENG JEWELRY, a jewellery store listed as established in 1932. Two tailors are also listed: Tailored By Luis and La Moda Suit.
Before you choose: street touts near Khao San Road sometimes steer visitors to shops. Walk in on your own, and ask for a written receipt for any gems or custom clothing. Prices on souvenirs differ from stall to stall, so look at two or three before you buy.
