Jok sam yan

Came here to try this porridge which the locals called jok. Didn’t know that Sam Yan is a market place with lots of other eateries. Porridge here is frequently by locals. The steaming bowl of pork porridge came with at least 4 good sized meat balls and liver, intestine and stomach. They garnish the porridge with lots of ginger slices and spring onion. Porridge is tasty enough so no need to add sauces. Will return when I revisit Bangkok.

Jok sam yan is an absolute gem for authentic Thai breakfast! Their delicious congee is incredibly flavorful and offers amazing good value. The fast service and friendly staff make for a wonderful casual dining experience with a true local feel. Prices are super affordable, and it’s great you can order plain porridge refills. Highly recommended!

This joke spot is no joke! The flavor and quality is unmatched. Could eat it with out any spices or sauce, it's that good. Just don't forget to come early before the chinese donut spot is sold out across the street. Staff here is super friendly and welcoming. Solid 5 stars. Can't wait to come back!
