Khao Gaeng Jek Pui (Je Chie)

We tried 3 different curry there. I really enjoyed its mild curry flavor. It’s a good cheap eatery to go to and very generous portion. You could see the locals going there- just to eat and then go back to their work.

Jek Pui is a place I return to every time I visit Bangkok. I first came here before it became popular, when there was no menu; today the choice is limited to 8 dishes listed on the wall. The place is extremely simple: no tables, plastic stools, shared space with locals and an increasing number of tourists. Comfort is irrelevant here – only flavor matters. And the food is outstanding. This is the best curry I have ever eaten, anywhere in the world. Deep, intense, perfectly balanced. You can choose yellow, green, or red curry, with beef or chicken. A very limited selection, zero compromises. If you want to try real Thai curry, Jek Pui is the best choice.

One of the best curry rice in Chinatown. They set up fair price not only for locals but also foreigners. One choice of curry with rice is about 45 baht. The curries are obviously Chinese-Thai style with coconut milk as the base. It has spicy, fragrant and rich taste. The place may be located in alleyway but it has became a local legends in culinary world
