French-inspired café near a historic temple in Old Town, with a balcony perfect for slow mornings over fresh croissants and coffee. The Parisian aesthetic feels unexpectedly charming set against Bangkok's riverside neighbourhood.

PAULETTE is such a charming café with a beautiful view of the temple. The atmosphere feels calm, warm, and aesthetic — perfect for a slow morning. I loved sitting on the balcony, enjoying a fresh croissant and a refreshing drink under the soft sunlight. Everything felt peaceful and effortlessly elegant. Definitely one of my favorite café spots to relax and enjoy the moment.

Unexpected Gem in Old Town! ✨ We stumbled upon this charming new cafe today during their soft opening, located near our hostel. It's a truly unique spot with a Parisian flair right in front of a stunning Thai temple. The cafe offers multiple floors to choose from, each with its own special ambiance. We enjoyed a delicious lemon tart with breathtaking temple views. This place is sure to become a local favorite and go viral soon! Highly recommend!

I ordered one croissant, one coffee, and one iced chocolate. The total should have been around 360–400 THB, but at first the staff charged me over 500 THB. I pointed this out, and they insisted the price was correct. After checking again, they realized there was a mistake on the bill. The staff said it was added by accident, but there was no apology at all. If I hadn’t checked the bill myself, I would have overpaid. For anyone visiting, make sure to double-check your bill before paying. The drinks are reasonably priced, not expensive at all around 80–100 THB per cup. The taste is average, but the atmosphere is nice and comfortable for sitting and relaxing. However, the staff were not very friendly.

A great view of the temple exactly what you’re looking for. Plenty of outdoor seating with different vibes to enjoy. Excellent drink selection. Recommended.

I stopped by this café thinking I’d enjoy a quiet moment… turns out I accidentally signed up for a small adventure. First, the legendary “1 person = 1 drink” rule. A simple policy, but presented in a wonderfully mysterious way — the sign is only in Thai, so foreign customers get the fun challenge of guessing the rules. When the staff explained it, the tone was so sharp it could slice bread. Impressive confidence, though not exactly the warm welcome I expected. Once I accepted my fate and ordered my mandatory drink, I discovered that customers also get the exclusive privilege of carrying their own hot beverages up a narrow, uneven staircase. A very hands-on experience. I even got to witness someone slip right in front of me, which really added to the “excitement” of the visit. Safety? Vibes? Who knows. I’m sure this place works well for others, but the mix of unclear rules, intense communication, and a mini obstacle course isn’t really my idea of a relaxing café visit. If Google ever allows ratings below one star, I’d be happy to provide an update. As for coming back… I think I’ll pass on the sequel.
