About

Street food stall in Sukhumvit that does one thing well: satay. The skewers are juicy and smoky, brushed with coconut milk to keep them tender over the coals. A no-frills local spot priced for the neighbourhood, not the tourist.

Satay Jae Aeng is one of those places that does one thing and absolutely nails it. The satay is ridiculous. Juicy, smoky, and brushed with coconut milk so it stays tender over the coals. You can taste the char, the marinade, and that slight sweetness that makes you grab the next skewer before you’ve even finished the first. There’s honestly nothing to knock. For what it is, it’s a straight 5. It’s a food cart near Chinatown in Bangkok, easy to swing by, grab a plate, and keep moving. Very reasonable on price, especially for how good it is. Service is solid and efficient, the setup is simple but comfortable, and the grill action alone is worth the stop. If you go, take a minute to understand the life story of Jae Aeng. Very interesting woman and it adds something to the experience beyond just great meat on a stick. Would I return? Yes. No hesitation. If you’re anywhere near Chinatown and want a quick bite of satay heaven, this is your move.

Inexpensive and delicious local spot to try Sate. Cleanliness can be improved.

We couldn't try it. Kept coming every day around 7-8pm and it's all sold out. If you consistently sell out, why not stock more? 🤯

The food is good but they really went downhill haaaard. Doesn't matter when you order, tour groups arriving after you and more importantly ordering after you get served before you. Ridiculous. Also, the servers have no manners. No thank yous, no polite form when speaking in Thai. Food portions have gone down a lot as well, you don't even get normal sized sauce anymore. Been here a million times, today will be the last. Sad times.
