The Original Samyan Congee

Cuteness overload at the reception! As soon as guests arrive, he happily says hi with a big smile 🩷. The porridge shop originally started at Samyan (now Samyan Mitrtown). I’ve known about it since I was a kid, but this is my first time visiting the Bangna branch! The porridge has great texture and you can really taste the quality rice. The marinated pork is tasty and fragrant, though a bit salty.

This is my favorite congee shop in Bangkok. The minced meat is texture is a little more dense than other shops but the taste of the pork is good. Pricing is more than fair. This shop has been around for generations and you will find many locals eating here and getting take out which is a very good sign. I had a bowl of congee and a drink for under 100baht.
