I found this place on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. When I arrived, I didn’t have to wait long for a table. The ramen portions were huge and tasted amazing — super flavorful and aromatic! The pork belly was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly. The staff were very friendly and always smiling, which made the experience even better. I ordered teriyaki chicken rice, a chashu pork rice bowl, ramen with extra chili oil, and fried fish (the dipping sauce was so good!). Everything was delicious. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

A very cozy place that feels like eating at your parents’ home. This restaurant is quite small, with only about 4–5 tables, so you may need to wait depending on your luck that day. The ramen is really delicious. This time, I ordered the Black Pepper Chashu Ramen, and the flavor was rich and very satisfying. Other menu items were also tasty. I really enjoyed the warm atmosphere and good food. I will definitely come back again when I have the chance.

I’m being generous by giving three stars, but it also means I’d be willing to return and try again, perhaps choosing a different dish. I had read the rave reviews and, as I tend to visit the Samsen area every few weeks, I decided to finally give it a go. Firstly, I would say that the small upstairs seating area was really nice. It had that classic old shophouse feel, and it was lovely to be able to look out onto the street. The staff were very pleasant, although they didn’t speak any Japanese. This isn’t a complaint, by the way — I realise this is Thailand — but a little Japanese would go a long way in giving the place a more authentic atmosphere. Now, onto the ramen — the main reason I visited. I expected a rich, umami-packed broth to savour with every spoonful. Each time I took a sip, I hoped it would deliver, but unfortunately, it never quite did. The broth felt rather diluted, and that moreish, “can’t stop eating” quality that makes ramen so special just wasn’t there. It was quite disappointing. That said, I had only just returned from Japan, so my expectations may have been a little high. However, after reading so many glowing reviews, I don’t think those expectations were unreasonable.
