About
Ba Hao sits in Chinatown with an oriental aesthetic layered over a modern bar setting. The cocktails are inventive, the food holds up alongside the drinks, and the atmosphere turns lively as the evening progresses. Service from staff like Alisa adds a warm touch.

This place puts you right at the epicenter of the action! Surrounded by great food, art, and music, the location couldn't be better. We stayed on both the 3rd and 4th floors—both were great, but the top floor is definitely the place to be. The owner is incredibly welcoming and even gave our daughter some toys to play with. We would 100% come back!

Created Google Reviews specifically for Bangkok - Ba Hao was the first place dined at as staying right next door. Great food, great ambience, would just prefer for the portion sizes to be a big larger. Beyond the restaurant itself, Ba Hao is situated in a lively neighborhood with several great bars nearby (top bars in Bangkok), great place to start off your night.

Negative Reviews
This place is trying but at this price point it needs to step up significantly. Menu is 🔥 but execution is mid. Very mid. Cocktails are appx. 350 THB and extremely sweet. Not balanced or strong enough for this price. Beers are not cheap and the tap system can be down entirely. Domestic bottles 120ish and import cans are 150. Sorry to be a baby, but you can't pour off cans behind the bar and serve on trays in different sized glasses. At this price that's just sloppy. This entire street of bars is 30% overpriced and 30% under output quality. This restaurant is a perfect example.

We discovered this trendy-looking restaurant a couple of weeks ago, whilst visiting a neighbouring cocktail bar in Soi Nana in Bangkok's wonderful Chinatown. Ba Hao is a restaurant and cocktail bar. There are tables on the street and inside - we ate inside in the nicely presented main dining room. Unfortunately, they don't have printed menus or tablets. You have to scan a QR code and then try and view their menu on your phone screen. Not ideal and a real turn-off for me. However, the food choices were good and it took us a while to choose: - Tofu Crackers Salsa: Tofu Crackers with Asian Pear Salsa - Stir fried Eggplant with miso garlic: Chinese eggplant stir with homemade miso garlic sauce top with crispy tofu and fresh herbs - Duck wontons: Duck Wontons with Chilli Sesame Oil - Pork Belly Mantou: Chop Braised Pork Belly served with Bun The food was excellent and creative. I really liked the salsa with the crackers - a good mix of flavours. The other three dishes: very tasty and nicely presented. Unfortunately, the service was really impersonal and quite unfriendly and not at all Thai. We felt that they didn't really want to be there - and didn't want us to be there. We felt unwelcome and won't be going back. Shame. (Also posted to my food blog on Instagram @AbbeyKing16)
