About
Baan Ajarn occupies a quiet corner near Phaya Thai hotels, drawing both tourists and locals with its genuine, flavorful Thai cooking. Prices remain remarkably fair—a meal for three with starters, mains, and drinks easily fits a modest budget. The casual, relaxed atmosphere and efficient service make return visits natural.
Signature dishes include chicken with cashews and morning glory stir-fries. Steamed fish arrives properly spiced and aromatic, showcasing the kitchen's respect for traditional flavors. The no-frills presentation belies the kitchen's technical skill and ingredient quality.
Baan Ajarn occupies that rare middle ground: it draws tourists but cooks for them honestly. The panang curry tastes like it came from a home kitchen with decades behind it—dense with flavor, not thinned out for timid palates. Prices hover around what street vendors charge, which means three people can order starters, mains, and drinks for less than 30 euros. The kitchen moves fast, the staff are genuine rather than performing, and there's no sense that corners are being cut for the convenience of passing trade.

Really enjoyed this place. Had the chicken with cashews and it was super tasty. Prices are fair, the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, and overall everything just worked. Would happily come back.

Guests are mostly tourists but the food is pretty good and authentic. We enjoyed the morning glory and the steamed fish (which can be spicy) Not wheelchair friendly ♿️ 🚫

Was looking for a dinner spot in the area and decided to give this spot a try. Surprised to see it was full of tourists but anyway. We ordered a panang curry and a pad thai as well as two drinks. I just mention the drinks as the second drink was only served after we asked a few times and around the time we finished our food. Also a very long wait between the two dishes. Idk but it feels they're not prepared for many guests and service just wasn't good. The food itself was actually fine. The curry was creamy and tasted good though not spectacular. The noodles were alright though I was surprised the chilis were alrdy mixed in. Overall it's okay but I wouldn't go back.
