Baan E-sarn Muangyos on Sukhumvit 31 operates as a genuinely excellent Isan restaurant where flavor-packed dishes and fast service create an experience that feels more like visiting a Thai home than a tourist destination. The menu covers the regional standard (som tam, larb, grilled meats, fried seafood) with consistent execution that suggests long practice rather than adaptation for foreign palates. The portions are generous, the pricing is accessible, and the atmosphere feels genuinely Thai—busy, warm, a bit loud, genuinely welcoming. This is my most favorite Isaan food in Bangkok. Hot pot and sausage is great. Very worm friendly people works here. The waitress remembers the costumers, so every time I come here I feel returning back in Bangkok. I always bring them my Japanese snacks to thank them.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for about four years. Prices are affordable, the food is very home-style, and the whole place feels relaxed and down-to-earth — the staff included. They serve Thai food; I always order the papaya salad and pork, and when they’re on point it’s a really solid go-to. That said, if you’re looking for a super polished place — perfectly clean, neat, and “everything just so” — this probably isn’t for you. The vibe here is more rustic and casual. Quality can vary a bit sometimes, but overall it’s one of the few places in Bangkok where you can eat regularly without overthinking it. It’s also open late, which is super convenient. They’re good people — 4 stars from me.

Maybe one of the best Isan restaurants I've ever been to. The dishes were flavorful without being overwhelming. The somtam was just the right amount of salty, spicy, and sweet. The grilled fish was perfection. It was a bit crowded on a Thursday night, but that's to be expected. Would come back, maybe on less bury hours.

Negative Reviews
The restaurant was very noisy, it was almost impossible to have a conversation. The cleanliness could be improved. I admit the food was delicious, but the staff were unfriendly, barely paid attention to customers, and always looked annoyed. I had to ask for my food three times. The prices were reasonable, but if I had a choice, I’d go somewhere else—there are plenty of other places with good food and fair prices. The staff’s attitude really ruined the experience and made me not want to eat there again.
