Baan Ice

Baan Ice is without question my favorite Southern Thai restaurant in Bangkok, and I make it a point to visit every time I'm in the Thonglor area. The food here is an authentic celebration of Southern Thai cuisine — bold, fiery, and deeply satisfying. The Grandpa's Khao Yam (Southern rice salad) is a standout dish that showcases the depth of flavors unique to this regional cuisine. The Grilled Pork Neck Spicy Salad is wonderfully charred and tangy, and the Deep Fried Sea Bass is perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender inside. What sets Baan Ice apart is the genuine commitment to Southern Thai culinary traditions. The kaeng som (sour curry) is tangy and vibrant, the nam prik (chili dip) is intensely flavorful, and the stir-fried sataw beans in shrimp is a dish you simply won't find elsewhere prepared this well. The crab omelette and crab curry are also exceptional — fresh, generous, and full of umami. The Thai ice milk tea provides a welcome respite from the bold spices. The atmosphere is warm and familial, reflecting the honest home-cooking spirit of the restaurant. The staff are friendly and passionate about their food. Located in Thonglor, it's perfect for a satisfying lunch or dinner. For anyone wanting to explore authentic Southern Thai flavors in Bangkok, Baan Ice is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff who speak good English. We ordered five dishes; three were good, two were average, especially considering the price, portion, and taste. Overall, a decent experience..

Was looking for a restaurant close to our hotel and this place was recommended. Really enjoyed our meal. The staff are great, food was exceptional! We shared a cashew chicken, brown rice and a pad thai with shrimp. Probably one of our best meals in Thailand and we've been here 6 weeks. Would definitely recommend!
