Ban Khun Mae

Wow!! Really great en authentic thai cuisine..... which you probably would not expect to find in a big shopping mall! Family owned business and you feel this in the quality of the fresh ingredients as well as the service! We ate their two evenings in a row and even had life thai music 🎶!! Very fair price quality relation! When you are at the MBK, certainly don't miss to visit this restaurant!

We got the shrimp cakes (220), fried mixed veg (120), rice (25), sticky rice & mango (160) and drunken noodles (160). For a place thats situated in an unassuming center, this was place surprisingly delicious. The shrimp cakes weren't very crunchy but they were definitely plump and flavourful. I loved the little crunch in each one. The drunken noodles were definitely the highlight. Lots of fire flavour in each bite. The noodles were bouncy and overall flavour was perfectly balanced. The fried mixed vegetables is just what we needed to balance out the whole meal. All the vegetables were well cooked and not over cooked. The sticky rice & mango was also very addicting. Strong coconut flavour. Mango was ripe. Perfect ending. Would definitely come back to this place if I wanted some legit Thai food in this area (thanks Reddit for this recommendation)

I was introduced this family restaurant that does thai home cook dishes by a Thai fren when I first wanted to try authentic Thai dishes. The original outlet at Siam Square has closed down n the new outlet is at MBK. The place still keeps the old thai traditional deco , but no more the thai music corner that gives performance to diners with traditional Thai instruments. A great place to entertain family and friends on special occasion.
