Chen Dim Sum

The restaurant is really crowed during lunch. Overall food is okay. I think it's a bit over price.

This is one of the best dim sum kitchen in a busy open air lane market opposite the Wat Mangkon Metro stn. The shop makes fresh dim sum daily as one can see first hand and they are being packed into boxes and put on the shelves to be sold . One can also eat the hot soft pork /chicken pau buns from the oven steamer. Other popular types like siew mai (pork dumpling) and har cow (prawn dumlings) can be made hot, if one wants to eat them . There are also the fried dim sum for those who enjoy the crispy kind. My fave at the store is the fried round/ triangle shape yam balls with fillings of pork char siew/ peppery chicken. For sweet , I love the salted eggs layer custard squares. The siew mai , har cow, char siew and lotus seeds buns make great takeaways as can made hot again at home for meals. Went back to Chinatown for dim sum. Drop by the restaurant to try other items this time . A delight to eat other dishes that is on the thai menu. The shop also sells char siew roast, pork , dumpling noodles. The service could improve as staff seems a bit blurr and slow with orders, some even have attitude problem. Maybe business too good, so they can treat customers badly. Remove the bad eggs , if not business will suffer.

Fish maw soup toss with crab meat was tasty. Cantonese shrimp dumplings were not good. Both came broken and dried. There was AC.
