Bull & Bear Steakhouse at the Waldorf Astoria is only about a five-minute walk from here (roughly 300 meters) and is significantly better in every respect. If you have to choose just one restaurant, go there instead. I used to be a regular customer here, but that ends now. This restaurant is seriously overpriced, and the quality no longer comes close to justifying the prices. I ordered a 120-gram ribeye that was shockingly thin—more like a Korean BBQ beef slice than a proper steak. Worse, it was extremely tough and chewy. It was so bad that I had to ask the waitress to confirm whether it was actually ribeye. I also ordered a lobster bisque, and the total bill came to 1,300 THB. For that price, the food was completely underwhelming and unacceptable. I originally came back for the bread, which I remembered being good. Instead, the baguette was rock-hard and difficult to chew. I asked for a replacement, but the second one was just as tough. At that point, it was clear this wasn’t bad luck—it was poor execution. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that there are clearly better options just minutes away. Within a five-minute walk (about 300 meters), you have Bull & Bear, located inside the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, and New York Steakhouse, located inside the JW Marriott Bangkok. At those steakhouses, you pay a similar—or sometimes lower—price and receive genuine five-star hotel service, far better food quality, and a superior dining environment and view. If you care about getting a proper steakhouse experience, do yourself a favor and go to those restaurants instead. This place is overpriced, disappointing, and no longer worth visiting.
